ouch. fwiw, Subaru was running that Guaranteed trade program a couple months ago. My '05 came up at 23,350. (not that I would expect to get that from a dealer normally.)

Anyway, try putting in your VIN here (you really only need the last 8 digits) - see if it gives you a value. It might at least give you a little more leverage on the trade.

Heh, but the STI has indeed moved upscale with every single year. I guess the 07 Limited hinted at the inevitable.

They should make an 08 Limited that is the exact opposite...and call it the 08 eXtreme or something. Rip out all the leather, navi, and audio stuff, sound deadening, heated seats, and offer it like a WRX TR (for less money) or S2000 CLub Racer (for more money)or seomthing. Oh and add the huge WRC wing back on, add RE070s back on, and get rid of that quad exahust stuff. Oh, and paint the brake calipers gold again and the STI logo back onto the TMIC.

Anyhow, I keep beating this car up but I think anybody will be extremely satisfied once they change their tires. Congratulations to you on your new purchase and to all the new guys. Glad to see that the community is going to grow with some new crazy projects coming soon hopefully!! I can't wait to see a wide body 08, black with black wheels......

Yeah, that sucks, but not totally surprising. I sent you a PM to let you know I am also interested, since I'm looking for a fully loaded car at a good price. At the dealership closest to me (Bay Area) I've been quoted straight MSRP.

I'd be interested but I'd also need to trade in my 06 Evo MR. Local dealer wants $34,155 ($500 over invoice) and they're giving me grief on the trade in, they first stated they could break clean with the loan but now they're quoting me nearly $2k less for the trade.

Anyways, I'd be interested if the dealer would be willing to work a trade-in from out of state.

I just put a deposit on a WRB base model @ $500 over invoice with the auto-dimming mirror/compass for an additional $125. Total price was 34,280 before taxes. Oh, and the free iPod that will show up sometime late summer. :P

Not the most earth-shattering deal but good enough for me to be happy. At least I don't feel like I'm being ripped off in any way considering its a brand new model. Yippee!

Back in a Subaru... can't wait...

FYI today (friday Dec 7th) is the last day they are taking preorders for this price. If anyone is interested, talk to Jake at Heuberger motors @ 719.475.1920 located in Colorado Springs, CO.
