i remember putting a 1000 deposit on my 07 at freehold subaru in NJ.this was in august,waited for about a month w/ out a car.and then i found out from a friend they were trying to sell me a car that never existed.the car that was on there invoice was sold in may of 07.and they were trying to find me one.the next day i went to subaru on rt.88 and they had just gotten one,so i picked it up for the same exact deal!!! 32k

hey NC2008sti the quote was from oregon. i just emailed them last night so if its true what rootus is saying ill set you up for a shipping quote. lol. hopefully theyll get back to me fast. like lunchtime fast. 12:00 est oregon is what 2hrs back from ny? or is it 3? whatevs.

Did you call my guy in VA? OR is 3 hrs behind us on the east coast. Let me know what they guy says. If it is that great of a deal I'll order mine through them. I am sure shipping will at at least 1K to the price. Coast to coast is a long way!!!

We getting a 2008 STi group buy going?
I would say that if we had 3+ people buy all at once, it would be good leverage for price negotiating.

Snowman thats what ive been trying to do!but nobody has been interested. But group buys would be better if they are in the same area. or are willing to go the distance together. If i hear from that place in oregon and its solid, ill see what we can do about more people and cheaper, or even free shipping.

NC2008sti i didnt give them a call just yet because rootus had a guy in Oregon for a better deal. If it works out, or if they can sway a little better if i get another guy, you want in? shipping doesnt matter, cause youll still be saving. dependingon how much theyre selling it around you.

sounds good. my dealer tried to throw on a 10,000 dollar mark up on mine! some idiots actually fell for it. they didn;t even try to hide it. it just said "dealer mark up, $10,000" right on the sticker

i told him before i even looked at the car he could go **** himself if he thought i'd pay that. they where a hot item back in the day. i put the deposit down in july, was supposed to get it in october, but got it in august.

Hmm.. i'm thinking about retracting my deposit and holding off for a while. I looked at my old invoice for my STI that I bought in March of 2004 and I paid $30,200 ($1495 off MSRP of $31,695). I think if I'm patient, I can pull off a similar deal. Saving another $1000 might be worth not preordering... I can wait.

okay
here it is as it stands. the price i recieved from a person on here is correct. price is 36k fully loaded, itcan be shipped for a fee of 250-350 dollars. i spoke to the dealer thats what he said.

Now as for a group buy i am emailing him as we speak, and will update the list and let everyone know on here. I might make a new thread if i can squeezeit before i have to sleep considering i have to wake up in 5 hrs. lets hope we can knock off a few more bills and make this even sweeter then it already is.

and if i dont open up a thread someone thats on my list please feel free to do so, and we will take it from there. and if everyone can. please have deposit in hand. and we can work everything outhopefully by fri, or mon.

Alright i made a thread for people that want on. its kinda slim, but itll be added. and make sure if you want on, you have the deposit fee in your pocket before you even hit that damn button
