36,130.00 w/BBS wheels & Navigation

I also requested a trade-in value for my '06. Ouch. 40K miles hurts the value a lot. I think I'll just keep it a couple more years and see what comes out in 2010 .
Those prices aren't too bad. I don't think they're justified, but not bad none the less. It will be interesting to see what the dealer markup over MSRP will be in hot markets.

One thing I learned is not to even waste my time talking trade in with a dealer. Talk about getting bent over. Your 06, high milage and all, will fetch a pretty penny compared to the chump change they're offering once all the 07's are off the lots.

When you say 'justified', I take it you're referring to the whole value of the car? With an MSRP of $35,640, I'd be surprised if many dealers sell it for less than $32,755, and most will probably sell it for a bit more. AFAIK invoice is $33,655.

I agree with the dealers screwing you..., but i dont konw if it is just the state i live in, but when i traded in my WRX for my STI the 17K that the dealer gave me for it was taken off of the taxable part of the STI...., so i only paid taxes for a "18K" car...., in the end it probably saved me about a grand alone, just for the discount on the taxes of the trade in.

4 dealers. 2 in nj and 2 in ny, all quoted for a lightning red STi with navigation and bbs rims starting from 43,000 to 46,000. After everything, the lowest for the car before everything was 38,995. they decided to add dealer markup as an adjustment.

--Edit--

See Math Below:

$38,795
+$2,000 (Market Adjustment)
+$2,855.65 (7% NJ Sales Tax)
+$354 (Motor Vehicle Fee)
+ $199 (Doc Fee)
+$7.50 (Tire Tax)
+$249 (Security Etch)-Optional

$44,460.15

This is the exact total if you came in the showroom right now and preordered the vehicle.

Let me know if we can assist you.

Thanks,
Melissa

i understand a 40k car after everythiing, but not 45. I had others, but in a fit of rage i deleted em. lol

Those prices won't last. You'll be able to get one at invoice if you don't have to have one of the first ones on the lot.

lol i told you guys! and no i wont get below invoice around these parts. i tried to buy an 07 STi in july, they were trying to get me above invoice in every dealer.

I gotta see what i can do about other states, if i gotta go there, ill pick it up, drive it home. make a roadtrip out of it. especially if it saves me dough. lol hey if anyone closer finds a great deal like Oregon has let me know. ill be all over it.

I would like to know the name of the dealer that is selling the 2008 STI at invoice. I have a hard time believing that since I have not found any dealer other than mine in VA that will even give me 1K off. All dealers that I have talked to are selling them for MSRP or over. Can you give me this dealers name?

Which dealer(s) is quoting a $2k market adjustment? I don't see if they are trying to appeal to the masses a $2k market adjustment will fly. Now if they delivered a true 'cult' car then I could see it.
For $45k there are a lot of options out there.

World Jeep subaru of NJ! funny that you live in nj. They just emailed me since i sent them a price from Rootus. for less then msrp. they still will only give me sticker price. and im not doing it, the money id save going there is worth it.

ive never gotten into an STi just for the plain reason they try to bag you in with way high prices.

right now I have a $500 down payment on a preordered 2008 STI for $500 off MSRP in Los Angeles. That was the best deal I could find from a local dealership.
