There is already a thread on pricing. I suggest using the search button next time.

I stopped at my local dealer yeaterday. They had a silver 08 STi with a sticker price of $36,614.00. And right beside it they had a sticker for dealer added equipment. It just said one thing - Adjusted Market Value- $4995.00 ! That brought the total price to $ 41,609.00 ! I couldn't believe it !

I wouldn't give you $ 31,609.00 for it ! I love my 06 ! I did love the seat compared to mine though.

Haven't seen dealer markups in the LA area, went to 3 dealers. One wanted sticker, or pretty close to it. The other two were agreeable to $500 over invoice...so I went with one of those dealers. Don't get accessories from dealer unless you get cost, you can do better online.

Lots of stories on here for people getting invoice so that's not out of the realm of possibility. If you're willing to wait 6 months, join IMBA and get VIP pricing, if you're not a member already.

That warranty is only 2 years and 14K miles more right? The one I got was 3 years and 44K miles more. Cost about $1100. Also included the 24mo free oil change deal but I won't be taking advantage of it.

I figured since at least around here extended warranties are able to be canceled at any time with a prorated refund that it was minimal risk.

In Socal, the internet manager told me she would take $2500 off the MSRP at any Orange County dealership. Her last email also had an underlined statement that every 2008 model WILL BE SOLD UNDER INVOICE.

PM me or email allanp@review.com if you want her contact info.

$2300 extra(compared to invoice) for two years of warranty and $100 worth of oil changes? Not sure I'd have gone for that one.

i also had got the IPOD connect, wheel locks, cargo tray, scotch guard the interior, and also they are putting a type of clear coat on the car so that is does not need to be waxed for 4 years...it is a subi/ porsche dealer and it the same stuff they put on the new porsches..are auto dimming mirrors and compase standard on the cars?
yeah i was unsure at first... but the dealer i went to really made me happy.. great guys there and they worked around with the rate and everything else...i dont mind paying a more as long as the service is good... if the guys were dicks i would have walked...

In this economy I would think you would have to be crazy to pay more than invoice. And you would have to be full-on raging lunatic to pay a dealer adjusted mark-up above MSRP. If a Subaru dealership is doing that it must be because they are the only Subaru dealership in a 500 mile square radius. Either that or they are completely out of touch with what the economy is doing.

I had no problem getting invoice quotes from two different Subaru dealerships in the Dallas area.

Whilst we appreciate the input I think this information is only meant to piss off 08 owners (see thread title). Have a nice day.
