They did turn the rotors and replace the pads but the treatment I got both times I brought in my brand new car. And then having to sign a paper saying that if I abuse the brakes again I will have to pay for it.

Just stupid.
That's terrible. I got my brake pads replaced under warranty. no question asked.

That is complete BS. My brake pads were making that noise and was cracked and I guarantee I did not abuse the brakes. Besides this is a performance car with Brembos? Are u suppose to drive this car like a Corolla?

I had no problems with getting my brake pads and a rotors replaced. I would complain to the district manager if I was treated like that. Maybe in Canada our dealers are just nicers

Anyone know how we can get a set of JDM pads? They seem to hold up well in the BM vid. Another difference with JDM vs USDM?

Where in Socal are you? What dealer did you go to?

My skin crawls everytime I hit the brakes. I can feel grooves in both front rotors; especially the passenger side. What a pisser.

I'm in Palm Springs, so I went to Palm Springs Subaru. There sales department was cool but I've never had a good experience with the service department. I've read good comments about fullerton subaru, but its about ninety miles away.

most stock pads are semi metallic, meaning there are pieces of metal in them. when that rubs up against a rotor, its gonna grind, ESPECIALLY when your running a performance style car, where the brake pads are more aggressive.

its normal, only time id be worried is if your rotors warp, blue/heat check/over glazed.. otherwise you will be fine.

I've got about 2500 miles and have yet to notice anyt abnormal noises besides some temporary grinding after a rainstorm or wash due to surface rust. I have felt some slight pulsating at highway speeds, but I can't tell if its pad deposits or flex/resonation from the super soft bushings because its kinda inconsistent.

I have had some weird grinding issues after hard-ish driving. Not track time or anything bad like that, yet.
However, I have decided to skip the crappy stock pads all together and get a set of the Ferodo 2500 pads. (Bought from Rally Sport, and recommended by several others) I have a track date next friday, and i'll be damned if I am going to let crappy stock pad issues ruin my day!!!!

What's the sense in getting the pads replaced under warranty. You are getting the same craptastic pads installed again anyway.

Have the dealer warranty replace them, then take them off and sell them and get what you really want. Something for your time.

if you intend to track frequently, you'll love the 2500's. They're very streetable but won't fade at the track. I've had them on my 04 STi, 06 Evo MR, and will be putting them on my 08 STi this summer. The biggest problem is they dust quite a bit, and its some sticky dust. I'd recommend cleaning your wheels ASAP after a track session if you want to keep them pretty. They last surprisingly long, too.

OK. I have to give up.

The new replacement pads installed by dealer are the same crappy pads, and i already got the same old grinding noise after one week(normal street driving).

I have a track day coming very soon, and i simply can't trust these oem pads anymore.

I will have some Ferodo 2500 + SS lines + ATE super blue soon.
Maybe DBA rotors as well.
