Talking Air Horn Installed!!!

This mod is a must where I live!

The Stebel Nautilus!

Stebel Nautilus Compact Motorcycle Air Horn - Black

I had I put on at a local shop here in south beach...
the guys didnt even charge me!!! ( I tipped them of corse)

THIS HORN ROCKS!!! (WAY BETTER THAN THE FACTORY "Meep Meep")

Sounds like a BUS or BIG TRUCK!!

I had them replace the horn under the grille, but leave the one under the right fender...

anyway... here are pics:

Yeah, the stocker that was under the bumper cover was killing me so I took off the bumper this weekend and disconnected it. Now I only get the blast from the Stebel. My friend told me that the Stebel has been known to fail (hey, it is Italian ) but I've had good luck with them in my MX-5s.

The blast compared to the stocker, or even a Hella Supertones, is incomparable. This thing makes people's neck snap...so they look over their shoulder like they should have in the first place!

Very worthwhile and easy mod.

I have read the same that they fail after a while... but considering the price, and how easy it was to pop in... Ill just replace it!

My frien in the Manilla has 2, on his Kia desel... he calims no problems after a year of use.

When the bumper comes off Im adding a second! lol

Well, I've been lucky with them. I had one on my 99 for about two years before I sold the car...not sure how they've faired since. On my 06, I had them for about 1.5 years before I had a friend assume the lease...remains to be seen how long it lasts but I'm sure my friend will let me know when it fails.

That is a wicked low price...Would the old Hella horns hook up with the 08 anyway? I was originally thinking of getting them, but since I saw this, might just grab one of these.

Is there another way to get the second horn out without removing the bumper. Like going under the wheel well/engine shield? Just curious.

You know, there may be another way, but I doubt there's an easier way. The entire bumper cover is held in place with plastic clips and can be removed in less than 10 minutes, even if you haven't done it before. The only tools you'll need is a stubby/offset philips head (to pop off the clips in the front wheel wells), a flat head screwdriver to pop off the remaining clips along the bottom and top, and a 12mm to take the horn off (or you can leave it in place and just disconnect the wire, like I did).

One thing to look out for is if you have fogs, you'll need to either take the bulbs out of the housing or disconnect the cable (former may be easier) since the bumper will not come off until you disconnect/remove the bulbs. Also, have something to set the bumper on when you're doing the disconnecting of the bulb. A Costco Huggie's diaper box worked like a champ for me
