No, I just plugged in the existing wire into the horn. I did the same thing on my MX-5 with no ill effects. I did not use the included relay.

Well that's easy then. Thanks for the quick reply and for the help on the front lip removal - just pulled it off and came in here to check this thread before I tried to figure it out. Cheers!

Okay I must be doing something dumb. I have tried both horn wires and can't get the thing to squawk. I've tried flipping it over and switching the terminals but no love. Is my horn bad?

so you have the old horn wire going into the left terminal...when looking at it from the front of the car and the other terminal is connected to the ground? I got a small wire and clamped a female spade on one side and connected that side to the horn and the other end with a ring terminal clamp and connected that to the bolt holding the horn bracket. you need a + and a -

Horns are nice but I think I'm jsut going to get a loud speaker like the police cruisers have, that way I can tell people what I think of them

haha, knew I was being an idiot. It's working now, thanks. I've also got a headlight in the oven

In high school, one of my friends used to cruise around with a PA system in his Ford Ranger. He got pulled over for noise violation/public nuisance after a cop heard him announce, "You in the Volvo...**** You!" We've been saying that to Volvo drivers ever since.
