Default Vid/Pics - COBB Tuning 2008 STi Exhaust (Prototype)

Check out a short video HERE!!

Keep in mind that this is a first prototype of a muffler design we have not used before and the system on this car is completely catless. We wanted to test it under the loudest and rasp-iest circumstances possible. The final design will likely include a resonator farther forward in the cat-back. Also, as soon as we get a catted downpipe on the car, so the rasp will be greatly reduced. We will not release an exhaust that does not pass the SAE noise standard (95dB) as a full catted turbo-back exhaust that all of our systems currently conform to. Also the production muffler's seam will be on the top and not visible.

Thoughts/Comments?

Thoughts/Comments? Yeah I hate you guys for coming up with more toys to tempt me. Me likes.

One question. Does the video show that the inside two pipes are for show only? I only see the outer tip fogging up on revs.

That thing sounds AWESOME.

Looks like this is going to be my exhaust when I get my STI in 2009!

But I dont want it to drone when cruising on highway speeds because it will get quiet annoying. Any info about it droning at cruising speeds?

Both tips are welded onto the same pipe, so gas should flow through both of them. The path of least flow would go towards the outer tip though.

Technically not a true twin tip exhaust though. If I had an 08 STi, I'd probably replace the twin tips with a single pipe.

When can I buy?

What is that noise towards the end?...is it a BOV or are you just hitting the limiter?

The exhaust flow is simply taking the easiest route.

I thought BOV's were a big no no to the Subi community?

Sounds a little raspy for my tastes. I like the GD exhaust better.
