I also would love to see rolled tips. Keep the raspiness and burbles and backfires - that gives it character! Thank god its on the quiet side, thats what I wanted! Let someone else make the ricer exhaust.

COBB, thanks for keeping us updated. I'll be the first to buy one. Please PM me when you have one to sell! I'll be doing the full tbe as soon as you're ready.

I hope the air box work is also coming along, any update there? I'd like to do both at the same time. BTW, will you release a new AP V2 map to support the TBE and intake specifically?

We have to get these mufflers into production. A production run make take a little while as it is a configuration we have never produced before.

It was not too apples to apples modifications wise. I do have a write-up from one of the drivers, Chris Lock, that I will get together. The short of it is that he liked the STi slightly better, but it is likely due to the sway bars and more complete state of tune on the STi.

I do not have a way to set a price yet. Since the muffler is custom made (not even close to an off-the-shelf muffler to avoid using a chambered design and/or reduce the amount of bends in the system drastically) I have not been able to get a production price yet. There was a Harmon Motive tuned 2008 STi there as well. It did sound good.

If we use double walled tips like we do on our 2002-2007 exhaust it will greatly increase the cost of the exhaust. The tips alone cost almost $40 a piece, so that would be adding $160 just in tips. A lot less cost effective than the single walled tips. I would not mind it either, but I do not think the market will pay the premium. I could be wrong though.

Admitidly I am poor at remembering to PM people. Just Keep an eye out on the site. As soon as it is available it will have a blurb on the front page. The airbox is pretty much the same as the LGT with a few minor changes. It is pretty much done, but we are still working on the intake aspect. We are looking at options that require a different tune, and ones that do not.

This is a good point, I hadn't considered.

Just the same, the only way I will buy aftermarket 08 STI exhaust is rolled quad tips (and relatively quiet, but still providing good performance). Picky, picky, I know. : ) Unfortunately, I realize I am likely in the minority and it may not be economically feasible to product both a single wall and roll tip exhausts. : \

Cost is not a problem if we can get what we paid for. High quality products are always more desirable and usually more expensive than average ones. I personally don't mind to pay a premium(within reasonable range) to get the best ones. Unless the products are dirt cheap, why not pay a little more and get the best of the best, and the one you always wanted. I can understand why Subaru did not use rolled tips for cost saving purpose, but i don't want to miss this feature again in an after-market unit.

If you think this way: The sound improvement alone might not worth the money ,hence not worth buying anymore. If i have to pay 1000 to get exhaust for the sound alone, I might rather pay for 1160 to get both sound and look. This is an after-market product,so we got to get something different and 'cool' compared to stock unit. That's my opinion though.

PS: Remember men(I assume most owners are men ) are visual beings, and we like to see something look "HOT"!

One more vote for rolled tips!

We need a poll on this.

I wouldnt mind paying the extra $160 either for rolled tips.
