Ditch that raspy part of it, Make sure there is no droning when crusing and I'd buy one.

Round ends on the tips would be nice as well.

If you can create this with no droning, SOLD!.
Just a quick question, I am a fan of higher (vs. lower or deeper) pitch exhaust sounds, how can we recreate that sound? (IMHO, higher means higher performance -Nascar vs F1 anyone-). For example, something that resembles WRC cars.
Thanks

get an equal length header, then run a non resonated catback and your favorite downpipe.

What you mean to say is you relate higher pitched exhaust to performance...Indy cars sound like that because they rev to something like 19,000 RPM...the high pitched noise you refer to I actually think of as "time to get a new exhaust."

i like the sound of the exhaust, but i just don't want to be harassed by the cops when driving around town. and since i'm moving to tallahassee in a couple months i'm really worried about the cops following me.

Not really, my e46 M3 toped at 8k rpm and it sounded a lot louder and a lot higher pitched (I had the euro spec exhaust), I know that it has two more explosions per revolution but thatīs exactly my original question, Can we recreate a higher pitched sound with our 4 turbocharged pistons or not (I believe we can).
Btw, the only cars in the planet capable of turning nineteen thousand times a minute are F1 cars.

We have already installed a catted downpipe. It removed some of the rasp, but not much dB as we have seen before on Subarus. I still think we need to add a resonator. As soon as we do we will make another video. The production unit will do as much as we can to reduce drone. That has always been our goal with every exhaust.

MEXSTIMPREZA
You can rev to 19,000 RPM like a F1 car. Small displacement, more cylinders, equal length headers, and high RPM = high pitch. Other than installing more cylinders and running more RPM than two production engines' rev limits together, can you are out of luck.

hairlesswookiee
Theat is why we work to make our full catted turbo-back conform to the SAE standard of 95 dB. That is usually quiet enough to pass in most places.

Since we have not dialed in the sound and started production, I have no way to give a time frame. ASAP.

Not true, Indy engines are just rev limited by the rules.

I don't know why you think higher-pitch means higher performance but oh well...Ferrari's don't have a high-pitch, neither does a Z06, neither does a GT-R, and the list goes on and on...

Personally I rather not have my STI sound like my highly modified 06 R6 (sold now).
