Default Finally saw one in person...

Having owned an '05 STi I was ready to not like this new design.

I was wrong...

The design has grown on me in the pics and magazine reviews, etc...

The pics don't do it justice, you really have to see it in person to appreciate it.

The only part I wasn't all that impressed with were the headlights and the front grille.

The new interior looks nice, I really like the black & grey and now the seats have cut outs for 4 point harnesses - - yeah!!

I went in to the dealer expecting to walk out saying WTF were they thinking and I'm quite impressed that I walked out saying, hmmmmm...

Same thing happened to me, though i'm new to subaru's, esp. the STI. Looks nice in person, now i'm picking up one on Saturday trading off my truck. Can't wait to get it.

Do you have a degenerative eye condition? This has to be the biggest misrepresentation of the 08s appearance I have ever come across.

It was a saturday last weekend. Me and the lil lady went to check out the new X and the new STi, exactly what we did 2 years ago when I bought mine. We saw the X first, she was a fan but mentioned it looked like more of a family car. She thought the interior was much better than the previous Evo and could live with it.

We drove to the Subaru dealership down the road, around the parking lot looking for the STi. Finally on our second trip we saw one by the showroom when we were leaving. First thing out of her mouth, "Thats it???? HELL NO" exact words.

I concede that you do not have a degenerative eye condition. Also, in retrospect, you have a very good point.

I agree it looks much better in person. The look really is growing on me, I love it. To that point, have you seen the evo in person? It photographs well, but in person it just looks.... dull and awkward.

Form follows function. Focus is doing very well in the WRC. Subaru GD isn't.

Pictures do not give you a sense of the proportions. The car looks tall and awkward in pics but squat and mean in person. The flares are much more aggressive in person and the roofline seems like the only option.
