| Junior STI Driver | Who has driven the 08 STI and find the throttle response dull and mushy? I test drove it last week and find the low end response seems much weaker as compared to a 07. ![]() I have a feeling the electronic throttle is mapped very conservatively for smoothness. Who has done a stage 1 or 2 on it? Any difference in throttle response? ![]() The 07 felt like 20% pedal travel = 30% throttle input whereas the 08 feels like 20% pedal travel = 15% throttle input. I drove it in 'I' initally just to feel it, and it felt pretty bad, so i flicked it to S, it was better, then i tried S#. Even so, it didn't feel as immediate as a 07. | Amateur STI Driver | Tune with Cobb or Perrin Stage 1, then flick from I to S# - awesome. Just like the nitro boost button on my PS3. And no, I'm not 12. Quote:

| Junior STI Driver | fixed my post. I tried all 3 starting with 'I' and onto S# and it still felt dull as compared to the 07 to me. The difference in I and S is pretty noticeable, but S# isn't too different from S IMO. Its there, but i think the average joe wouldn't be able to feel it. |

IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | I was happy with the response in S#, but I just flashed the Stage 1 Cobb AP map and the first few mm of pedal travel feels the same now whether I'm in I or S#. I'm pretty annoyed by that. I'm going to try the Perrin map next. |

| Senior STI Driver | Give it a day or two for the ECU to adjust. When I reset my stage two, the throttle responce goes to hell. There is about 1cm of dead play, which makes it hard to drive normally. That goes away after a couple of days. |

| Junior STI Driver | I have a MSD dash Hawk display in my 08, it also show you the TPS on it. on idle it shows me 2% to 3% when it's cold and 1% to 2% when hot. Throttle resopnse is actually very impressive. |

| Junior STI Driver | I'm not sure if the car's ECU was still in learn mode, as it only had 20 miles on it. Apart from twigg107, have the rest of you guys driven a 07 STI for direct comparison? |

| Professional STI Racer | Feels just as good as my 06, only more ultimate power at the end of the travel. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
