yea but if you don't know how to properly apply that power to the ground it doesn't count lol.

The '08 STi is a very nice car, that goes very fast, but Subaru bumped it out of my price range.
I guess what I don't understand about the money arugment is I bought an 06 STI for around 34,400.00 + tax etc.. I bought my 08 STI for less than 2000.00 more than my 06. Don't ever pay whats on the sticker. My sticker listed at 39800.00, took me about 2 weeks to find a dealer willing to go to invoice, turns out a lot of them said they would, but would not put the money where their months were. For less than 2k I get a nicer interior, better daily driver (important to me), Nav, redesigned model (which I like better), better usable trunk space. If you remove the NAV, it would have been the same price as the 06. I would gladly pay the difference to get the above mentioned.

As far as performance goes. I honestly cannot see a difference between the 06 and the 08. what are we talking about, 1/10-3/10 of a second difference 0-60 and the 1/4mile? I don't believe those mags during their testing anyways. I watched the MotorWeek review and their 0-60 time was 5.6, that's an outrage. If you watch the tester's launch, he almost stalled it, no wonder the best he got was 5.6. My 7 year old daughter could do better than that.

Also, were can you get a Vette for a little more than an STI. When I go online to local dealers with like equipment to the STI, at invoice pricing was 44,000.00, fully loaded at 47,000.00. That's 8-10 K more than an STI. Now if you talking used vette, that is a different story, but that's not comparing apples to apples.

Just my 2 cents.

True. I tested it because ,i was thinking STI can't be that slow and Subaru is not that stupid. I did a 6600 RPM launch with traction control off I chriped up to 3rd gear and when to 60 in 4.5 seconds. not only once but 4 times. and people shouldn't worry about Accords. accord is not even in the same catagory of STIs. all I worry about is awd class cars.

but for the same price, shouldnt the "new" car be faster than the old car?... sounds like thats the case for EVERYONE ELSE except for the STI and EVO... look at the G37, bmw 335i and plenty other cars... like the accord. not saying STI isnt nice but it hasnt improved for the same price while others did... so in a round about way it got more expensive.

Look. Before my 08 STi I had an '03 M3 (convertible). That M3 was fast as hell and had pretty much razor sharp handling. But the major reason I wanted the STi over the M3 was that I could NEVER push the car into a corner full throttle. With the rear wheel drive, as all you know, you have to ease it into the corner, especially with the kind of power the M3 has (even more so for a Vette, and someone was talking about earlier, even though the vette might have some wider tires in back). The M3 comes INTO the corner sharper and with less resistance, but you basically have to complete the turn before ripping into full throttle. That's the benefit of our sticky four wheel drive car, and with the turbo and sticky dunlops, and all the new technological mumbojumbo, we are paying for the reassurance that we won't lose control of our cars when we punch it into the curves (with some reason obviously... in fact, I still got my tail loose the other day, punching it too hard out of the corner in low gear boost range). I'm really sick inside that we're talking about Camrys and Accords in this forum. The bottom line is that RWD and FWD will never be able to keep up with us in the turns, and if you *really* know how to drive our car..no, if you *marginally* know how to drive our car, the "accord" won't keep up in the straights, either. Gross, I can't believe I just made that comparison.
