Yeah, all of these changes in body panels and practically still the same motor. Look at BMW. The 333hp I6 to a 414hp V8. Thats a difference

A Miata is a dedicated sports car that accelerates slower than a V-6 Hyundai Sonata, but it still has the same edge it always has and it continues to sell.

Why has this become such a big argument when the fight is over numbers that a magazine over embellished to make this car seem fast. Funny how it "equal" comparison is the eclipse which some how dropped 1/2 second in 3 years. As for the trap speed well most cars that are"sporty" have a trap speed of 100 or more even some Hyundais pull that off.

With a 267hp weighing in at 3600lbs this car will be lucky to hit 14.5 seconds. For 30K not worth it atleast Hyundai's new coupe is RWD for the same price.

Power train issue is irrelevant as there are too many variables to consider for the argument.

ill never get this, why is 1/4 mile hillbilly racing? 1/4 mile is one of the best ways to see actual real world translation of gains from modifications. Because dyno #s alone are for noobs and bad drivers.

I mean look at the puerto rico STi runnin 9s or whatever it's at now, why don't you tell them to go buy a mustang, different strokes for different folks.

but the point is... STI used to be fast with good handling for its price... now it has lost its "fastness" therefore not really that good a deal anymore...

I can take the "for the money" argument. I took my '04 in to a dealership for warranty work last Friday and I decided that I liked the '08... but after I checked the sticker on it, which was $39k, I decided that if I were in the position to buy a car at that price point I'd spend a little more and get a Corvette.

The '08 STi is a very nice car, that goes very fast, but Subaru bumped it out of my price range.

Does the new 08 STi's even get the jump on other cars these days with the new revized long granny gearing?

Spend a grand on Mods and the Accords trap speed won't bother you any more

The 08s are responding VERY well to stage 2 protunes.
