Well I just tried I-mode on the highway. Not too bad. I can't believe how good of a ride this car gives when just cruising around.

I find myself in S# mode about 98% of the time. The other 2% is when I forget to take it out of S mode.

S# is too twitchy and it's no more power than S. I hate these fake "Sport" modes - my M3 sport mode was the most useless function in the world. It takes out all of the fine control in the lower end of the throttle curve and deadens it up top.

S is a nice linear throttle map - if I want more power, I give it more gas.

Gotta dis agree with that/// I do notice the low throttle is more linear; however, the S# mode is definatly quicker!

If the Top end seems to drop out.. thats because your getting there a whole lot quicker, and the boost is dropping off

Try Half throttle in third gear while driving in S switch to S# that should give you an Idea of the difference

Still.... S mode is my choice for normal driving

Has anyone noticed if the steering seems to sharpen up slightly when in S# mode? I've tried switching around over the past 2 days, and maybe its a mental thing, but it does seem to respond a little better to wheel input when in S#

I do not think the S# mode does anything to the steering or suspension. I cannot find any wires protruding from the top of the shocks.

It is possible that the dif settings has something to do with this... especially if it is left on Auto.

The difference is that instead of the pedal position to throttle position being 1:1 in S, they make it 1:2 in S#, in other words in half the pedal travel you are at full throttle. Hence the "excitement" of the RPMS jusmping up when you changed modes, it essentially pressed the gas pedal down farther for you.

I'm also not a fan of this. I like the ideas of altering the throttle map to improve response and all but I think they could have tuned it so the pedal maintains a 1:1 ratio. It does make it tough if you like to use both modes as it either gets twitchy if youare use to S or it doesn't seem to respond if you are use to S#.

Definitely don't agree. Dyno it and you will see the proof. S#'s map is noticeably more aggressive than S or I.
