Default Any reasons not to buy new STI?

Just seeing the invoice pricing that some can get, it sure seems like a good deal. Anyone have any fatal flaws that make you wish you hadn't bought one?

Thanks.

sandblasted rear doors
http://www.iwsti.com/forums/2008-sti...ng-thread.html

questionable stock tune, similar to the '07 which has been reported to cause damage on a stock motor in a few cases.
2008 Stock Tune: just the facts

I really wanted to upgrade but I am waiting to see if/how these issues get resolved.

Besides being ugly as sin and just as heavy I'de say it's a waste of money. you can pick up an SVX for $2k and eastcoastswappers.com will put in an STI drivetrain with warranty. A .29 drag coefficient and 3300lbs is a good thing, especially with leather and suede.

^^^wow, i'm not a big fan of the '08 but that was just unnecessary... also the costs on that website seemed real questionable and there were zero pictures of svx's in their gallery...

Just...wow.

I'm sorry but this:

I don't care if a SVX w/STI swap runs 10s. You can keep your leather-and-suede-80s exterior/interior and 90s crash safety. I'll take the '08 any day...

You asked about people who already purchased. Other than the one guy with the serious paint sandblasting, I think most of us are happy. I am very happy with mine.

Granted, the interior needs to be updated, but isn't custom better than stock? The international crash test results were way ahead of it's time and that's an air bag in the steering wheel and it has passive restraints in case you forget to buckle up

Its major flaw is its turbocharger. It should of came with a 400 shot of nitrous.

Actually it came with a real sports car engine that is still used in $40k aircraft engines, the EG33 Boxer 6. If I throw a rod threw the 4 I can always put the turbo on the 6 which takes 2.2L turbo pistons.

Yes SVX man, I know what the SVX came with. I mean the '08's major flaw is that silly turbo.

Just out of curiosity, what is wrong with the '08's turbocharger?

I absolutely love mine. I guarantee 1 year from now everyone will be talking about how great they look. People always resist change.

Lol. That SVX interior shot remings me of the "Box Turtle" (My 85 Subaru GL wagon). The E-brake handle on the SVX belongs in a spaceballs movie. No disrespect to the SVX owners! The car is bad ass but the interior is notably early Subaru stylin'!
