Default Pink or Cherry Red? Is Subaru color blind?

What the heck is subaru doing to the trademark PINK STi badge? On the tach, it's PINK, on the steering wheel, it's dark red, on the front and back badges, it's cherry red, on the wheels, it's pink, on the side flares, it's cherry red, enfront of the shifter nob, it's a red/pink mix, on the seats, cherry red....WTF?!?!?!?!?!?

This inconsistency is so irritating...it's as if they just slapped parts onto a car and nobody gave much thought to what the COLOR was going to be...I love the PINK badges and don't understand why subaru would deviate from the color-branding they are famous for?

Anyone else find this annoying?

why are you mad about this? the difference between the two colors is minimal.. obviously you saw that BEFORE you bought the car...

The guys has a point! I did not notice the variation of colors on the car until I had it for awhile. What you can do is remove them and replace them.

subaru is famous for this lack of sensitivity to detail. My 06 STI is the same.. red lights in dash, green lights in console. It drives me crazy too, and if you do a search you will find a lot of people on this site who have paid to change these visual inconsistencies.

Isn't it that they changed all of them to red, but the one in the dash panel is still pink? I'd assume that it wouldn't have been cost effective to make a change to the dash panel, so they left it. Think of it as a throwback to the old days or something.

I know it's a minor thing, but it's not like you get into a BMW M car and the colors on the M badges vary throughout the car...Look, I just like Pink, and as a heterosexual, it's not easy to admit that...When Subaru adopted pink for the STi, I cried because finally a car company displayed it's sensitive side...Cherry red does nothing for me, but Pink...Now that makes me get naked and sing Hannah Montana...

This is how I see it... If you are a male and you do NOT like the pink, you are a homo... Right? Not that there is anything wrong with that. I like pink as well, and I never noticed this. I'm going to the garage to check this out...

Traditionally the what we americans call Subaru "Pink" the Japanese call Subaru "RED"

The variation in actual color now... I wonder if its just a US STI thing? hmmmmm

Maybe Subaru is gradually trying to switch away from the official pink into a more racy Red color?

IMHO I'm diggin' the new red STi badge...
