Get an 05-06 Sti, or just get the G37. Love that G37. Looks and drives amazing.

This discussion would be over if the STi was 150 pounds lighter.

Well if it helps a little bit, the G37 weighs more than the 08 G35..which is the four door. The RWD four door is actually faster and cheaper, even though it has 24 less hp.

i tested a g37 in jan. and i couldnt stop smiling! the car was so sweet to drive. it had the sports package which made it sounds awesome.

if u want looks and luxury get the G37

if u want speed power get the sti (it will be easier to get more power out of it too)

If you want a manual, get the STi. I just came out of a G35 with the same 6 speed and it was trash. It was replaced once and should have been replaced again.

Other than that, the available tech is awesome.

too hard to mod and tune the g37... go with the STI if you plan on modding.

Those were both on my list as well. Loved all the features and '****pit' of the G37s. Tons of cool things to play with, better NAV, etc. The g37s would sertainly be a better daily driver. But for me, I knew I'd track and sport drive the car more so I had to go with the STi.

There's always the Infiniti EX35 AWD. Mondo heavy, and no 6MT option, but plenty of luxury (at a price). I looked at it for, oh, about 5 minutes.

When you compare certain cars, like the STI to the EVO, a lot of people say you can't really go wrong. And that could be said for this STI vs G37. But frankly, when it comes down to it, you *can* go wrong in what makes you the happiest. And anyone of you who has bought a car and wished they had bought something else instead will know exactly what I mean. So I would highly recommend getting into both cars, and even though you may not be able to drive the STI, imagine yourself driving both of the cars on a daily basis. How do you feel? Is your serotonin pumping more for the STI or for the G37? Now imagine yourself walking out of your home, work, or a restaurant to walk to your new car. Which one are you most excited to see? Finally, please do consider the biggest 3 differences between the two cars: (1) AWD vs. RW, (2) 4 doors + hatch (aka, practicality and space/utility) vs 2 doors and adequate rear space (the G37 actually has pretty decent rear room compared to similar cars and the past G coupe), and (3) luxory/class versus rugged + sporty (and somewhat classy inside compared to, say, EVO). Final thing to remember is how you feel after having PAID for the car. STI 33-38k or G37 38-47k. And as attached to this, if you like to modify your car whatsoever, think about what you'd like to be doing to the car and how that relates to the one you just bought. After thinking about these things, I say the STI "for the win" with about a 90% confidence level. I just get excited when I get into my STI and drive it. And that is probably the single most important thing in conjunction with cost.

I do like the way the G37 sounds and looks. It's simply a classier car. But if I were going to go down that route, I would go with the BMW 335xi in either coupe (this was recently released...) or sedan format. Cost will be 45-50 pretty well-loaded I imagine.

Personally i hate the VQ exhaust note. It sounds like its trying too hard and doesn't sound good while its redlining. Second trunk space was a joke. Third, the ride wasn't smooth for a luxury car (sport package 19" wheels). It handles "ok" but felt very heavy in turn in. Acceleration was underwhelming for a car thats suppose to have 330 hp. I think Nissan over rated their hp figures.

mr. camry...... you are making the most ridiculous comparison that i have ever heard of..
all of these comparisons are ridiculous.. SUCH different cars. just because a car is around the same price range and made in the same country, doesnt make them at all worthy of a comparison..

please leave now. thanks.

Obviously the STi is more sporty and a bit quicker and lighter by roughly 300 pds.

But...

The G37's design is by far in my opinion the best looking car under $40k and it in no way lacks power... not to mention the added touch of luxury...

What do you guys think?

Any two cars are up for comparison if they are the two cars that you're deciding between, and these have a lot more in common that country of origin and price, but I guess you're right all the people who contriubuted here should leave because you said so......

Thanks for the very useful insight........
