Default Cobb shifter settings

Where do you guys have yours set? I'm curious what others have it set at.

Botttom piece: top part of the rod is pushed .25" inside from the shifter's flat area that you look down on.

Top piece: .75" raised from being bottomed out at its lowest point.

This seems a good mix to me, but I'm still going to drive another day or so with the center colum off to tweak it.

BTW, word to the wise, I was just tightening one of the two lockdown screws to tweak it, then it would be "stop light quick". I left the other one loose, and it vibrated off and I almost lost it into never-never land inside my car. Just a FYI!

Its good. I think I have it set very close to the stock orientation, but it feels much more notchy and generally tighter. the only explination I have is that I think the geometry is just different (even though the heights are the same) because I think the pivot point is shifted more forward (towards the front of the car) and up than the stocker..Overall I'm happy with the design but I'm still tweaking it with the center console off.

The only little negative I've noticed is a slight increase in shifter effort, increasing as you reduce height and the front bar of the shifter - the oem part, does hit the rubber gasket at the base because its naturally moved more forward. I applied a little grease so it wouldnt squeak, hopefully it stays lubricated.

BTW, if you do drive around with the center console off, you get to hear a really cool noise when accellerating hard. Originally I thought it was the turbo - it has a turbo like sound, but I realize now that its more likely the bearings to or the prop shaft itself that you can hear. I really like the sound, and may consider leaving the internal sound deadening rubber gasket thing off.

It's probably gear whine you're hearing.. race cars with straight cut gears sound awesome, too loud for a road car but really cool.
