Default Clear Bra Part II

I had strarted a thread a few weeks back regarding the installation of a clear bra (XPEL) on the 08 STi. I have received several requests via PM regarding pics taken in the sun. My other post contained pics of the car inside the garage. If anyone is looking for more detailed shots, just post up in this thread. The car was pretty dirt when I took the pics.

Do you recomend professional installation for the front end kit??

I ordered a set for the side rails and plan to do that myself.

I already installed some on the bottom of the doors from invisguard.
Wasn't that difficult.

I recently have every kit X-pel offers, in full kits. plus custom wheel arch and rear fender flares. The full hood, and such are very difficult. hence the 5/5 stars in difficulty. If you want a full job, def get a professional.

The smaller kits could be done yourself, but as the sheets of plastic get larger, the more difficult to get it on correctly.

I would rather have a pro install the nose and hood area. The nose section was huge. I wouldn't even think about doing the job myself. The way I look at, I spent 35k, what's another couple hundred.

I also have the headlights done. The spots you see on them are just from a recent rain/snow storm. You can't even tell they are on there. The installer custom cut the headlights, hood, fenders, and a couple of smaller sections in the "rock chip problem area". I have not had a problem yet.

Thank you very much for the pics. Out of curiosity though, some of the pics don't seem to be coming through...only the first three are showing.

How do you find the film holds up to everyday highway grit and crap? Does it wash completely off?

ive been reading on this forum that the new 08 sti has paint chipping problems from rocks n debris comin from the tires n chipping paint off the side skirt, doors, fenders n wat not, so im wondering if i can actually put those clear bra on the parts that do get chipping from the debris?
ive also seen post made from people putting on those rally mud flaps or just store bought ones do work, but im not too into the looks of mud guards.

That's strange, I can see more than three. Anyone else having this problem?

I can see the first 3 and then the rest are all photobucket icons saying the pic has been moved or deleted.

When your installer did the custom job on the hood, how did he cut the film at the corners? Is it cut right on the car? I'm actually a tiny bit worried about that part.

He cut it on the car with an x-acto-knife. I went inside the house because I didn't want to watch.

He does side jobs in regards to clear bra and tint. He charged me $425.00 for the tint and the clear bra (nose, hood, headlights, mirrors, a 1/4 of the front fenders, and behind the rear doors).
