I picked up one for $1000 *under* invoice yesterday. However, it was pre-ordered and I do not believe the place I purchased will make that deal anymore (or even close).

I've heard of several people getting the car under invoice. I'm one of them.

I got $500 off invoice, and I think if you look around that wont be hard to find. Just tell them "I'll buy it today if you give me $500 off invoice." Most wise dealers will go for it, ESPECIALLY if its at the end of the month when they have to hit sales numbers.

Almost all of the local dealerships will offer 1K of MSRP.
If you want more then that, you will have to go out of state. Thats what we had to do.

Hey, I'm in Sacramento and ready to buy today. Would you mind PM'ing me the dealers you're mentioning? I've sent a few emails but haven't received a response yet. It's only been since Sunday evening that I got confirmation that I'm buying one so I'm not worried about the lack of responses but if I can target my efforts at dealers that are more likely to deal that would be nice

Thanks

Steve

I just got my 08 STI from Livermore Subaru, I paid invoice for my base with a few options. They do have a Black base when I purchased mine last Thursday. Look for Lapon at Livermore Subaru. Stright up guy and no games.

try hueberger Subaru in Colorado springs. They are easy to work with and gave me the best deal I could find on mine.

I was able to get a white w/ BBS no nav for 1200 below INVOICE in MD (34,500). I could probably get someone that price if interested. I ended up getting mine at a different dealership because I wanted nav; I ended up getting mine, which is white w/ BBS AND Nav AT invoice + a package they threw in which they charge $369 for, which includes every other oil change FREE for life of car, free loaners for life of car, and discounted maintenance thru the dealership. If I didn't want the factory installed nav, I would've done the 1200 below option.

Try Nate Wade. Brock Kassing is their internet manager. I know they don't move to much on sti's, but it might be worth trying.

I'm not surprised at all the good deals. In CT, there are at least 15 cars in stock, which is somewhat high for a car that was as "anticipated" as this one was. I'm assuming that the general state of the economy has people holding back on "toys" (which of course these are...)

Which dealers in NY are doing that? I'm in NJ and can travel.
