Default viberating hood on 08 STI?

I notice vibrations on the hood when hit uneven pavement or on the highway. Just wondering is the normal on a Subaru? Thanks.

I noticed that too. Its funny how bad it is. I think Ill get used to it but it seems weird that there arent stoppers in there to limit movement of the hood.

Cools so it's normal... First car with a hood scoop so just wondering if it's normal. I asked my friend if his Legacy Spec B does it and he says no.

Kind of annoying if you ask me. I wonder if there a solution for this?

this scared the living bejesus out of me when I first drove it on the highway after purchase. Pulled over and checked everything out under there. It is because of the massive airflow gong through the scoop and cause the hood is aluminum.

I don't mind the vibration cause it's a fantastic car to drive but if they are aim more for the mature BMW crowd...things like this should be addressed.

Wondering if placing some rubber grommets at the corners would help?

The 08 is much better than the 04 was with this. My 04 with the aluminum hood and larger scoop flops around like mad on the highway. The 08 is not that bad.

My Spec B hood is probably 10 lbs heavier then the STi hood. I also don't think the scoop is "sucking in as much air" (as my wife says) whereas the STi's scoop looks larger.

the new 08 hood looks hot and aggresive with its "in-bound" scoop i guess you can call it rather than the previous years' sticking up scoop. anyone know if the 08 one would directly fit onto an 07?

interesting, since i'm still breaking mine in, 4k rpm is only 100 mph in 6th. but up to that point, i didn't notice it on mine.

Keep in mind my only other reference is my '03 WRX that looks like kids on a trampoline in comparison.

I couldn't disagree with this more. It looks as though the entire hood lifts several inches when you hit a bump. This has nothing to do with ram air velocities. Our hood scoops are integrated into the hood design so it isn't the scoop that is moving, but the entire hood.
I freaked out the first time I experienced this...it certainly grabs your attention.

This doesn't happen on my car. The roads around me a garbage and I don't see any movement.
