Default TMIC Stone Guard - Where?

I picked one of these up for my '03 WRX "back in the day". I've searched all over and can't find one for any model. With 600 miles on my new '08 there are already 3 good dings to the intercooler fins.

Anyone had a lead? I thought I got the '03 one from Zero/Sports but they don't have anything like it now. They still show the ss insert for controlling air flow over the OEM TMIC but no stone guard.

Just make one...i made on for my 04 with gutter gaurd from home depot. I put a piece of paper in the scoop traced it then put it on the gutter gaurd and did the same cut it out and used the tiny little black zip ties to secure it. Its mesh lets plenty of air thru and looks good too cant even see the tiny zip ties.

I'm working with a shop near me to create a IC protector. I only have 500 miles on my car, but I have about 8 bent fins. I'll post pics when the cover is done.

At least we know that the hood scoop works!

yeah, not exactly very high up on the "bling scale" but pretty damn functional

i had the scoop screen on my '04. and decided to do it different this time. not only is install a breeze. it might actually be less restrictive then the scoop screen. i say "might" because i have no way to actually prove that

Oh wow thanks, but thats another thing i wouldnt want to restrict the air flowing to the intercooler, cause then its not doing its job 100%. And that definitely looks a lot easier than the above link lolol
