Default 08 STI - painted grille and fog covers.

What do you guys think?

Painted grille and fog covers. I like the Grille... but still not sold on the fog covers... will put fogs eventually but just wanted to see what it looked like.

I like the grill surround a lot, but the foglight covers don't do much for me.

The grille looks good, I may paint mine as well. Fog covers aren't bad either.

looks better. The awkward part of the car (taillights have grown on me) is that black part of the front bumper. Very squared off and, ....90's. Painting it looks good.

I think a white grill would look good.

Also to access the tow hook for the front, you need to remove a small section that you appear to have painted over. Just an FYI if you need it in the future.

I used Krylon fusion gloss black (thought about matte but I'm happy with the gloss), because it's made specifically to bond with plastics. All I did was wipe the piece down with TSP and then gave it a few coats. Lots of thin coats to avoid drips and you should have no problems.

edit: I should add that I actually removed the grill from the car, and removed the piece from the grill. I'm not brave enough to try and mask it and avoid overspray onto my baby.

i like the painted grill. It looks much better than the stock grey one. I was thinking about doing the same from day one.

Where did you get it painted? Do you know roughly how much it would cost to only paint the grill?

Got it done for free so I don't know how much it would cost.

Set aside 2 hours and buy an $6 can of spray paint. There are 8 push clips to remove, 4 tapping screws to pull the grill, and 3 screws to pull the badge surround part off of the grill. It's easy as hell as long as your hands/wrists fit behind the grill to pull those screws, otherwise you would need to drop the front bumper lip. Let me know if you want details/screw locations/etc.

Updated pic... also got a Cobb Accessport and DP installed last week. It's a must do... the car feels great like a different car all together. I will post results and review once I get my custom dyno tune next week.
