To the OP, I would shoot for invoice on one and be prepared to have it shipped so that means locally or regionally to you, find a dealer/salesperson that will go $500 over invoice and don't pay a penny over for one. I also wouldn't get the factory Nav system (no offence to anyone). I just put a Pioneer D3 in my DD with Bluetooth, XMTraffic Routing, Full IPOD interface, and steering wheel control integrator for under $1k. You can't get traffic routing with the factory NAV nor can you get a true IPOD interface. + the stereo in this thing is awfully weak. For that price you'd pay for the factory NAV you could fit your car with a full system if you DIY.

Also...I know of a place you can get a brand new EVO for invoice + 500 shipping so keep that in mind when you are emailing these dealers. I've cut and paste the EVO prices below. Remember that you would still have to spend $500 to have it shipped to your door. And no I'm not some EVO fanboi, I would just use the prices as leverage against the dealers you start communicating with. I'd rather have the Suby but $35k fully loaded with SSS and NAV is a damn good deal on one of these.

LANCER EVOLUTION X GSR BASE MSRP $33,655

ON SALE $31,944.82

LANCER EVOLUTION X GSR W/ SSS,WHEEL LOCK MSRP $35,655

ON SALE $33,694.82

LANCER EVOLUTION X GSR W/ SSS, NAVI MSRP $37,710

ON SALE $35,356.11

LANCER EVOLUTION X GSR W/ NAVI AND AERO MSRP $37,653

ON SALE $35,153.11

Well where is this place you know of for those prices? I need a website or something.

Thanks,
Jared

Don't listen to any BS a dealer gives you about market value. As soon as you drive the car off the lot its worth about 3-5k less than invoice. Try taking a brand new car you bought and attempt to trade it in and see what the ACV is (actual cash value, its what we pay for used cars at auction, and trade ins). Go and find a car you like, if its one you want tell the salesman, I will buy this car if you meet me on price. Offer them $500 over invoice, if they say no, then walk. Go at the end of the month as well, last day or day before the last day of the month. Dealerships always want to get "one more car" in at the end of the month...also, I hate to say it but try to find the most idiotic, dumbass, frumpy looking salesman (one with down syndrome is perfect) because if you spend the time with him, his manager will take pity on him and try to make a deal just to get the poor guys some commission (I was an internet sales manager and finance manager at a mazda dealership). If they shoot you down, just say ok, well thank you and get up and start to walk out. He'll probably run to his desk manager, you can stop and look at the car for a few minutes and see if he comes out to get you, if not, he has your information if the dealership changes their mind and they can call you.

When I bought my '05 last May it had 29k miles on it, they had it listed on the lot for $28,995 , I bought it for $22k (of course, you wont get a deal like this on a new car, there isn't that much of a difference between invoice and msrp) From what I've gathered you're looking at around $33,700 for a base STi at invoice after destination charge. I would say if you can get a base for around or under $34k + TTL you're doing good. Of course I would try to find a new 07 that someone is trying to get rid of on clearance because the dealers get hold-backs, and dealercash to get rid of them.
PM me if you have any questions about anything.

FYI; something that i learned when i picked up my car today;

when finalizing the deal withthe "finance guy" everything is still neotiable
pretend you're not interested, in their optional plans. the only thing that i wanted was the "service plan", but i declined it at first. after a while they'll ask "at which price will you take it"

i named : $2000 plus a free loaner car when i'm in for more than just an oil change.
and it worked.

What service plan did you get? Like extended warranty?

no, declined the extended warranty.
i basically payed for all my scheduled service up front. if you don't do your own maintenance, it's a nice option.

it covers the first three years or xx amount of miles (forgot the amount)

you can use it at any subaru dealership in the US.

wow man I dunno if I'd have taken that. Paying interest on the loan of the $2k, and all up front. That really sucks especially if you don't keep the car forever. What do they charge for the 30k and 60k service? Say $50 per oil change, up to 30k miles, so you're at 500 total+say 500 for the 30k service? Will you make it to the 60k service in three years? Maybe you break even over the life of the car but, it just doesn't seem like a deal to me. I don't want to insult you but I don't see how that makes sense and how you're happy about it.

The only thing thats worth getting from the finance guy (coming from the guy who did finance) is GAP insurance if you put less than 30% down. And the extended warranty, ONLY if you plan on keeping the car for longer than the warranty period, you drive more miles than the warranty period lasts, AND if you can get it at his cost. (An exemption plan-meaning everything is covered except for wear items, should run around $900-$1300 dealer cost depending on mileage, term carrier, etc) paint and fabric protection is BS with the exception of a clear bra.

Glad to say my car was recovered today while I was on my way to the Subaru dealer haha. Well I am happy to say I get to wait like I originally wanted to do and hopefully next year the STI will have the bugs out of it and I may buy one then. My car isn't perfect and has a few things screwed up from the morons, but it runs good still at least. Ignition is jacked up, tire is blown when they curbed it running from the cops...if anyone wants to hear the whole story which is pretty funny I would be glad to type it up here haha. Three people were in the car, the driver ran...but the cops know his info and he is probably in jail maybe now otherwise will have a warranty etc.

Sweet! You should call the arresting officer and see if they had camera's in the cruiser when they took him down...that would be an excellent addition to the story. lol

Well the driver ran and got away, but the cops had their guns drawn I can assure you that. I don't think I would get any video footage, but I wish I had some pictures of my own...cops took some, but I didn't.

I imagine they got the driver already since they knew his info and cops were at his house waiting for him.
