You can not have any tint on your vehicle in R.I. The only tint allowed, is factory tint on SUV's and mini-vans.

That looks great, and you got quite a deal. I called up a local place and they want $600 just for the clear film, and more like $800 if I want to go all out and do the rocker panels and a custom area behind the rear wheels.

Some people have reported rock chip damage behind the wheels, but I think the clear film would look 10x better than those giant rally mudflaps.

I agree Gray. I think the mudflaps look horrible. All I think of when I see them is a pick-up with the Yosemite Sam "Back Off".

I found another local shop with much better pricing. They now have XPEL kits that cover the entire hood - not just the front 24". In my experience, no part of the hood is immune to rock chips, so I may fork over the extra money to have the entire hood covered. They can also do the entire front fenders, not just partial.

Also, both shops I talked to said it's no problem to customize protective film for the lower rear quarters to protect from rock chips. There is no reason to ever have to defile your new STi with this:

Unless you happen to like that sort of thing.
