Went and looked at an 08. They wouldnt even let me drive it without negotiating price. I said, Ill come back when you are willing to test drive them.

Id have to say that the new STi looks way better than I had thought. Those mega flaired fenders almost look like a widebody kit. Cant wait to see what guys try to stuff under it.

The seats are less bolstered than my 04. Seats are complete crap. Shifter is still spongy too...

I agree, it does look much better in person, when you can get a feel for the size and proportions, than it does in pictures.

(the 135i, on the other hand, looks very ho-hum in person, worse than the pictures)

I thought the seats seemed quite alright, much more comfortable than the stock ones in my '06. I've been driving on Recaros for a while now, so it's hard to draw a direct comparison, but I was specifically trying to get a feel for how they fit, and it seemed to be not bad at all. The stock 04-07 seats are just abysmal. Worst part is bounce, though, and since I didn't get to drive the '08, I don't know if they still do that ...

First of all if your talking about the new 08 STI's how could you possibly know if their built good? Are you going off previous car?

There are many many Evo's with well over 150k still ticking along perfectly fine because people do the normal maintence. It really ticks me off to hear you say that you fanboy. You can tell you are when you said the "darkside." What the hell is that supposed to mean? One way are you?

My friend has been working at the Subaru dealership for about 3 months and has seen more stock STI's in there then he's seen WRX's. So much to the point that he was about to buy one and decided not after seeing so many n there for stupid ****. And I'm not talking about normal maintence either, blown turbos, head gaskets, pitsons going. That dealership has more then a couple STI engines just sitting around because the owner just decided to replace the whole engine instead of trying to fix whatever was wrong to begin with because they thought it would be easier. Now what does that say about Subaru?

Now Evo's definitely aren't without flaws, crappy clutch and transfer case, but STI's aren't in anyway more reliable. Basic maintence which most people get lazy on is all you need for either car to tick past 150k with ease.

You talk like you actually know what your talking about, but stop and think before posting a whole bunch of fanboy BS.

Tell me, how does it feel that the new STI which is now about $5-10k more then a brand new IX is slower or the same in just about every aspect of the OLD Evo? Plus you can't tell me the new STI is better looking the the Evo IX or VIII's. Lets not forget the Mazda 3 speed here....

Even the owner at the dealership who liked the STI a lot still said the older STI's were faster. Now how much does that say when the friggin dealer talks down their new STI's?

I daily drive my Evo (22k in 9 months so don't say I don't drive a lot) and the seats are very nice. I have co-workers that ride in my car all the time for 1 hour + trips that easily fall asleep and they really like the seats. So don't go making excuses because you wish you had the Recaros....

I didn't want to make a post like this but I can't stand fanboys that don't know what their talking about and make dumb **** up just to make themselves feel good.

Truth is a I used to be a huge suby fanboy, look at my join date, I've done my fair bit of research. I can't even tell you how many member's journals I've followed such as brewpubweavers (getting his 35R put in putting out over 500whp on C16 then his car getting stolen, ESSesey(definitely spelled his name wrong) (had a really nice SGM 06 STI with a 20 or 18G turbo I believe that he eventally sold and got a Porche) and many others. I used to absolutely despise Evo's because I heard people like yourself ramble on talking about how unreliable they were. Then I went to see for myself in person the Evo which I'd bet money on that you've never even driven an Evo or have ever been on any of the Evo forums. You just assume what other Evo haters on here say is 100% truth. You and I both know people make **** up just to make themselves feel good about what they bought.

Anyway I started reading the forums just like I did with this forum and most of the people the Evom forums liked the STI's but saw them the same way I did. They are the better car if your not serious into modding and want they better daily driver.

I choose the Evo because stock for stock the Evo IX is better then the STI's in almost ever way except daily driving. Check out the best motoring vids. 1 shows the Evo and the 07 STI starting next to each other, by the end the Evo IX passed the STI and put a HUGE lead on him. This has been proven over and over and over again. Evo has the handling advantage, the straight line advantage and they are cheaper to make faster.

I've seen countless videos on this, both stock and modified. I forget what video it is (think its on streetfire) but 2 companies modify the 07 STI and the 06 EVO IX and they Evo IX had the clear advantage on the track and the spent less money on the Evo when it was the same price as the STI to begin with.

I'm done with the rant and I hope you see what I'm trying to say here, both great cars so you can't and shouldn't talk down either.
I would have responded quicker but I was on a Gig in the Bahamas today>>

I have never personally called anyone out in a forum like you just did!

WOW!
You are Brave hiding behind your screen Just remember, Hartford county is not that big

That being said THIS IS A SUBARU STI FORUM!!!!! NOT A mitsu Forum/// That was my point im my original post...

S for my OPINIONS! I am entitled to them... and my statements stand>

SUBARU IS A BETTER MAKE THAN MITSU AND I HAVE OWNED BOTH~

The New STI is on the LGT platform that I have been driving sense December04 >
And as for your BOYFRIEND saying negative **** about Subarus needing repairs....
Im sure he does see a fair ammount of ABUSED Turbo cars, likly from little cumps like you that think there racing all the time, because they constantly have something to prove due to LACK OF CONFIDENCE AND SMALL

Threats about sending your boy to do physical harm?
Very bad taste man.

I don't want to hear a bunch of Evo bashing either, it's childish, and I think the Evos aren't bad at all. Reading that kind of crap reminds me of little kids telling each other that their Dad will be up your Dad.

And a tip for you from a gun toting Texan (licensed) with a taste for large protection hounds.......people that are going to do something, do it, they don't talk about it. I don't give a damn who you are, who you think you are, or who you know, threatening people on a forum with violence is bullsh1t. You lost any respect I had for you with those statements, not that it means anything to you anyways. If you do not wish to apologize for your other comments, no big deal but you should be a man and apologize for your threats. Sounds like an admin here needs to school you on doing that kind of thing.

Same here. I think MT are the STI lovers. They ran the 06 STI to a 13.0 1/4.

Thanks for the grounding from one carry permit holder to another....
AND LET ME ADD, that I never Threatend use of a wep. that would be considered brandishing to an extent>>>

Thant being said, It was more to make the point... that when you Call someone out in "Cyber Space" you never know what kind of person you are dealing with, and how far there reach stretches... It is VERY easy to obtain info on people, like address and the likes>

Let this be a wake up call for all of you!

Be more careful about Flaming people online/ the little security we all feel when typing, could change fast if the other person took it to personally... and acted on it.

Anyway, GO TEXAS... Im from NOLA

the thing about my boy.>> actually, I was talking to him on the phone, when I first read the flame... he is also a BB in JiuJitsu, (more Hot headed then me..lol) He happens to live in the same area as this dude>>> he would love nothing more than to go practice on this Chump> Still I told him no way!! But the option is still available

Also..

In the Fed. issue of R&T they claimed the new STI used a Mitsubishi turbo. WRONG! It uses the same IHI VF43, same as the 07. I saw the turbo at my dealership this past weekend and it's stamped with "IHI Turbo".

Awww man... I loved the macho gun-toting part. Must be a down South thing. I tote a gun too (legally). Heck, almost everyone in Alabama totes a gun. People are generally very nice down in these parts too, and I guess that's why. That's why it's kinda funny to hear someone make threats they'll send someone out to "break their arm" or whatever. You best know who you're dealing with if you come after someone down here. There's an old saying... don't bring a knife to a gun fight.

Only one problem with guns: a little escalation and you are staring down the barrel of a thermonuclear warhead. Just one of those can really **** up your whole day.
(like it matters at this point )
