You will see them as the cars are totalled in Japan and other areas of the world where Recaros come as an option in the STI.

And then they will probably have the bags deployed as well huh . Even if we were to get them new...wouldn't the bags be on the wrong sides?? Seems like either way we are screwed.

If youre hard pressed for some different seats, why dont you just go aftermarket? Corbeau, Recaro, Bride...the list goes on. Theyre still expensive, but not 6k expensive.

They don't have airbags as far as i know.

It's only the US cars that have them.

Hear say is that they didn't adapt the sensors required for the passenger side airbag (ie, to turn them off when an underweight person is sitting in it)

I've seen a lot of accidents where the airbags don't go off

Furthermore when they do, they're pathetically small.

It depends on the accident. Airbags arent made to deploy for any and all accidents. They only deploy under certain circumstances depending on the physics of the accident itself.

Exactly. And, sometimes the smallest things save you.

It's a combo of the things that keep you alive longer. Having and airbag and not wearing a seatbelt wont save you. A rollover or sliding under a truck the airbags may not go off.

It's kinda like the whole JDM bumper beam vs USDM beam battle that always comes up. Does the beam actually do anything.

About the seats, they are very very nice IRL!!

But they are very smal!
I'm 6 feet long and my weight is +- 209pound and they we're a tight fit

Just to confirm for all, the JDM recaros DO have airbags. They have the SRS Airbag tag on them.
