Default First BIG 08 STI Front sway bar, which vendor ??

Taking bets, will it be Racecomp or Perrin or Cobb or??

I need one real soon.

First auto-X with my 08 is Feb. 10th!

I'll have wheels and tires by then, just need the bar now.

Any vendor responses with a timeline for avialability??

Pete

the front sway is the same as the LGT....So the bars are already out there.
Whiteline, Cobb, Cusco, all have them already. Just choose your favorite company and get one.

I would presume the rear might be the same as LGT,due to the wishbone suspensions being the same but the front has a wider track versus the 07 STI.

What you are saying is that the LGT got a wider track before the STI did. That doesn't seem right.

Where did you hear this??

The LGT rear sway bar IS NOT THE SAME.

The front 2008 WRX sway is the same as the LGT. The front end links are the same part number as the 2008WRX/ GD STi, on the 2008 STi.
So the front sway is the same(about 90% sure on this). Will try to do some testing this weekend.

Endlinks being the same makes sense. Those haven't changed in years.

Track width is all new and wider.
The STI is 1.5 inches wider in the front and 1.8 wider in the rear.

That would change the width of both bars in my book.

Miles at Racecomp said he is working on a new BIG bar for an 08 STI. ~32 mm woot!

Auto x in Feb, must be nice

Why don't you run it stock for the first event so you have a baseline of how the car feels?

That is the plan, I highly doubt any company could develop a new bar, produce the first batch and have it at my doorstep before then anyway.

I do have Volk RE30's and Dunlop Direzza Z1's on order, and should be ready for the first Auto-X

Ebay of the future might have some

Don't have that link though.

No one is making one yet as I implied in my original post.

speaking specifically of the cobb bar on the LGT, by "same" you mean the one that DOESN'T fit, right? The one that's too short and puts your endlinks at a wonky angle? Yes, that should be a good one to use.

I'm bitter about it because i bought the F&R cobb set for my '07 LGT and that front is NOT a perfect fit. cobb even suggests behind the scenes that your purchase their endlinks with a spacer to provide an optimum fit.

Thanks for that fitment issue info.
I have a racing bud at Hotchkis who makes the bars for Cobb.
I'll see if he is aware or not.
