2008 WRX STI with side moldings

I am new to this forum so I would like to extend a hello. I have on order a 2008 WRX STI and have ordered it with the body side moldings. I have had my fair share of door dings in the past so I figured this would help. Does anyone have any pictures of this, I would like to know what it looks like on the car.

welcome..perhaps they're only available for the 08's?? cause i've never even heard of them for an sti...just mostly european cars

I love how they have all these options for the 08 STI, but don't actually give an example of how they look.

i think the subaru site has a picture of them on the standard wrx.. should look pretty much the same..

Umm... there are pictures on subaru.com: build your own. Personally I think they look fussy and break up the shape of the side of the car. Further, my Integra GS-R has these and they don't help much since they only protect from dings at the height of the moldings... lots of dings on my doors at other heights from doors of all different shapes and sizes!

Last time I checked they also didn't have pic's for the sport grill.

I used to have a 02 WRX till a few months ago a driver in a SUV decided to make it a sub compact instead of a sedan..very sad..anyway . I don't recall if the 02 WRX had this side molding accessory but I wish it did. I guess it does not protect against ever ding but its seems better than having not having it.

Did you get your STI? How about posting a pic with the moldings? I'd like to see how it looks. Some of us have been talking about getting one with that and want to see how an STI looks with them.

Moldings FTW!!!

Seriously though, I got a set and to be honest, I think the molding really breaks up the solid slab of a door and flows with the lines of the car. The fact that they'll help with at least 50% of door dings is also a good thing. Very easy to install with the provided templates. And yes, I've been lazy and haven't posted pics but I need to wash my ride first. I'm also waiting for my RA mud flaps and Redline shift/brake boots. THEN I'll open up a journal.

Though your local dealer won't have moldings on an STI, they should have a few WRX's with the side molding in a variety of same STI colors that will at least give you a good approximation of the look.

I agree with GilM that they seem to work nicely with the lines of the car. That combined with a fond memory sitting in parking log when a Merc. disembarked next to me with each of the four kids making a new indentation as they exited individually (Mom finishing off the last dent herself) made this a no brainer for me.
