Question Real World Prices on 2008 STI's?

Now that there are some lucky few out there that already have your shiny new 2008 STI in your garages and others like myself that have a pre-order invoice price. I am curious to know what are the Real World Prices that people have paid for, or are going to pay for their new 2008 STI's with or without options and accessories??? Let's see if we can get the average going price as well as high end and low end. My condolences for those that might be on the high end upfront. I will start off with my pre-order purchase price...

2008 STI Sparkling Silver Metallic
BBS Silver w/Nav package
Auto-Dim review mirror w/homelink
Upgrade shock sensor alarm
Wheel locks
Rear of seat cargo net

Total $39,451 (before tax & tags)

I will be getting my Sparkling Silver Metallic with BBS for 35,400, which is including the destination charge. Almost got the nav, but from what I have seen it is definately not worth the extra 1800 bucks. I got a few other options too.

My honest opinion: You should have left it at BBS/NAV for 36037 +destination. I cannot believe you financed XM radio, tint, and a subwoofer. The OEM sub is garbage. Oh wait, I don't know if you financed, but my opinion stands. Your extras could have been purchased elsewhere for less.

Well I hit up a dealer today in Santa Cruz, CA and the price for the dark grey w/ BBs and Nav was MSRP and about $40,500.

Good news is that thaqt Dealer and a lot of others don't charge a markup.

I did find out the Dealer invoice was ~$37,000 with all that mentioned.

The one w/o BBS and Nav. was regular MSRP about $37,500.

If I get one, I can get it at invoice, and accessories at cost through a deal Subaru has with my company!! They'd probably lowball any trade in I might have though.

My dealer said he would sell me a WRB '08 w/BBS for 35.5K. I think I will wait until the end of the month and see if they will do any better. This sounds like a decent deal to me, what do you think?

I wouldn't pay a dime extra for the wheels, buy your own.

You own wheels would probably cost more and then you have to buy tires... Then you have to find a space (or sell) for your original rims. Not to mention you don't get the fog lights.

And then you'd have a spare. The BBS cost like $3000 when you consider you don't get to keep the stockers when you upgrade to BBS.

Are you really save anything

Rims 200 each 800.00
TPMS 45.00 each 180
Tires 150 each 600
Grand total 1580 and we have not talk about shipping. So spread that over a 5 year loan. that is an extra 7 dollars a month.

Each car has it's benefits, and its problems...
07' STI:
1. Cheaper
2. Infinite mods available
3. Faster (stock vs. stock)
but...
1. "Im an idiotic racer boy" looks (mainly the spoiler, which many remove...)
2. Nice interior, but worse than the 08'.

08' STI Hatchback
1. More refined interior
2. Less unwanted attention
3. Practicality of a hatchback, fold down seats, etc.
but...
1. More expensive
2. ignorably slower than previous model
3. Tuned to 93 octane, which is impossible to find in cali.

Soooo...
If you want a racer, where you don't care what croud you belong to, and how comfertable you are, get a 07' and mod it.
If you want a reliable hatchback, that you can drive every day and murder many cars without any mods, get an 08' (if your willing to spend money into the car, and not some moronic mods...).
