I have a suspicion that the test vehicles provided by Mitsu. don't actually have a full tank of 91 octane based on my info.

I am going to wait and see how the delivered production EVO's do in the real world and or on the AutoCross course against me in my 08 STI!
I think you'll eventually have to eat these words. Everything I've been hearing is that the 4B11 has been drastically detuned to be 50 state legal. Like the new STI with its dual V.V.T., I wouldn't be surprised to see a flash on a new Evo yield gains of 20whp-30whp. Moreover the OEM isn't tuning these things on the frazzled edge for magazine reviews. Regardless of the power however 3500lbs+ is too much girth for me.

I am talking about stock vs stock. I'll be auto-xing in a stock class.
Reflashes not allowed there.

Just for clarity, my gut feel says they were adding additional octane to the test vehicles to avoid pinging because they are not able to tune it well enough yet to run our crappy 91 octane out here.

Just think... the AYC lets the Evo hang with the STI even with a couple hundred pounds of extra weight ... how cool will it be when Subaru decides to put their own flavor of AYC on the STI .

i still cant believe they would be that stupid to design a sports car that gets signifigantly worse mpg and acceleration than its predecessor or competition. I dont get it. Maybe they release a light weight version

An EVO X baseline dyno'ed at 232 Horse and 256 torque... I think the STI here on the forums baselined at 230 horse and 240 torque

More like 230hp/270tq, but those numbers are meaningless unless they were done on the same dyno.
