How much Room do you have when you pre-ordered the car from them and they jack the price up, I ordered it and they told me that they can not give me an MSRP becouse they do not know it yet. I did order it with a Sport grill and a couple of other things. I just get the feeling they are jacking me around. Would SOA help in this area?

I really do not want to say. I do think I am getting very nervous about this deal.

They already have MSRP's on all vehicles that they have VIN #'s for. Ask for your VIN. Otherwise, you can look up what your MSRP should be on the SOA website (build a car). Anyone else anything to add?

They are lying to you. They can give you a MSRP for the car, maybe not for the accessories, but definitely for the car. I wouldn't pay more than invoice myself. They want anything over that then I'd just wait. Let some other sucker get robbed.

Since I'm in between contracts right now, I recently started selling Subarus. We have 1 STI (Red w/BBS, no nav) on the floor and they have a $4995 ADM on it. And they're holding to it. The Internet sales manager has invoice pricing on all cars but the STI. She said the powers that be have set the price and she can't move on it. SHe's lost several sales because of it. And yes she does know that most other dealers in the PDX area are selling them at MSRP. She said the idea is that the other dealers will sell what they have, then our dealership will have the only STI in stock making it a bit more valuable.
Hopefully the GM understand that there's a very brief window that will work in, once STI's start being stocked regularly, he's SOL, AND he's lost several sales in the process.

Back in June when I was buying, the local dealer told me I had to pay sticker like everyone else and it was non-negotiable. So I drove 10 miles to the next dealer. I knew the invoice numbers, didn't mess around with any negotiation, and drove away that night with a fully loaded STi at 300 below invoice. They had every color in stock and even went through every STi on the lot to find the one with the lowest miles.

Here's the kicker: I called the local dealer that same day and told him (EVO-owner, car enthusiast) I would rather buy the car from him at invoice. He said NO. I even sent my sister in (cash in hand) three weeks later to buy an Outback Ltd from him. She introduced herself and he told her he didn't want her business because she was related to me. At that point, her boyfriend lost it in the showroom and yelled 'DOES ANYONE WANT TO SELL ME A CAR??' So, they drove 10 miles down the road and bought their Outback Ltd that night.

I won't publicly name dealers because everyone's experience is different. But if you live in Colorado, PM if you'd like to know.
