No "Base Model" in Canada??

The first 08 STi's are starting to touch down in Canada
The Sti is here - Toronto Subaru Club

Looks like they only come with BBS/Nav - no base model.

Interesting.

Seems that they are not interested in selling the car...

That's actually common for dealers to only carry the "optioned out" version. I've had dealers try to persuade me that SoA does not make a "base" model. Heck, they even denied the existence of the TR model to sell that one limited sitting on the lot.

The Canadian spec sheet does not list any options, everything is listed as standard equipment. The BBS/Nav as "Standard" and no option for the fogs, a base model or anything else.

They need to justify the pricing... can't have an STi selling just a few thousand more than the overpriced WRX. I'd expect we will see a price of $47K+ once you add the freight, A/C tax, etc.

I spoke with a dealership today and the fogs should be available as an accessory. It sucks that we have to pay for them but that's life as a Canadian.
