Just because you've made your mind up to purchase a $35K doesn't give you the right to act like you own the place and act like a prick. (You do come off like they owe you the world).

Believe it or not, being cordial and patient will get you farther, especially when you are working with the service industry.
I guess "Tone" is something that can easly be misconstrued in reading text...lol
I am truly a fair and easygoing person... (not even taking the "Prick" thing too hart )
I didn't email them demanding Below Invoice! I emailed them, AND spoke to them on the phone, and offered above invoice offers. The only thing I was absolute on was getting my trade paid off.
I dont feel in anyway I was out of line... I AM THE POTENTIAL CLIENT. And we are talking about CAR SALESMEN (TRUE PRICKS IN MOST CASES, THAT DONT CARE ABOUT ME AS THE CUSTOMER AT ALL ONLY MARGIN OF PROFIT)

Anyway... I just got off the phone with another dealership in South Florida...
After one Email the guy called and within 10 minutes, FAXED me an OTD offer of Inoice+Dest. on The exact model I want.

Now, If he could do that why couldnt the other three dealerships in the area?

So guess what... They lost the sale!

AND I WILL STILL GET AN STI WITHOUT HAVING TO WAIT!!!
\
BUT let me get this straight...
Your method is either bend over and get f#$% or wait untill they are ready to deal with me fairly no matter how long it takes.....?

Thats not for me buddy

This I do like:
"I don't race. To me, the STI is like a Samurai Sword. Its full potential should only be drawn when the situation demands it. Then once drawn, it should be used in the swiftest and most efficent manner to achieve your goal. Once the situation has reached it's conclusion, it should be resheathed with respect and proper thanks to the soul within."

Reminds me of a quote form Yojimbo: When the old lady tells him "You shine with all the brilliance of a great Katana being streached to the heavens"........(then after a Pause) "Only, the really Quality Katanas are never de-sheathed"

Agreed, tone, is tough to pick up through text. But you've also just proved my point. This has been going one for how long? You finally found a salesman that knew what they were doing. And now you have exactly what you were looking for. Congrats on getting what you want.

Don't misunderstand my belief, that being cordial and patient gets you what you want faster. Obviously, if I'm not being offered what I've made clear is my intent, than I keep looking elseware. When they see that I'm serious and know what I'm talking about, than it pretty quick and painless.

Thanks on quote. I was going through a thread and was like, "I like that, gotta have it".

regards to OP, this is exactly why I HATE dealing with stealerships, they only care about the sale of the day and nothing more

Some dealerships like to make it more personal. Since it's over the phone, net...that really makes it a single day sale, and not much else of a nice buying experience. I am happy you found the car you wanted, and hopefully at the price. We are not all scumbags and crooks though.

I know... Sorry if you took offense.

I wish we had an Entusiast dealer like you here in Miami> Mastro in tampa is the closest...

And what proves it is the dealer who automaticlly responded with numbers and not hype...
And even the one who emailed me today to tell me "they would not be 'discounting' the STI for a while" (Atleast they were straight up)

I think todays buyer is educated about what they want, and dealerships have to recognise this.

If I were selling cars I would be on here just like you, keeping in contact with my demographic.

Hey thought Id give an update on the PreOrder in Miami>>>

I get an email from the first dealer today...

"They just told me we should be receiving the STIs by Feb. 2nd. The one
you want (the fully loaded) we arent getting any of those. We can
order one for you. We are getting the basic one and the BBS package
one as well. Just let me know whats up.
Thanx,
#$%^&*"

ME:
So no Nav option ones arriving?
Guess we should have per ordered back in December..."

I'll let you know...

Her:
"i know, im sorry about that. had i know i would would've told u and we
could've pre ordered 1 for u."

"After I was told the model I wanted was coming in, and I needn't pre order!!??

I wonder if that means we got a better offer on your STI, you want to pre order one now?

Lucky I got two other dealers>>>

Lets see what happens.
