Default Its an STI, no wait its a Mazda speed 3???

Photo Compare - MSN Autos

Man distinguishing between the two in moving traffic sure could get tricky to the untrained eye

Not really.....One has fender flares, one doesnt. I can name the differences all day long. Sure they are both hatchbacks , but then you are now assuming that all hatchbacks look alike. Its a hatch....get over it, and a darn secksy hatch.

The new STI is growing on me slowly like they usually do, but I'm certainly not about to rush out an buy one. I would certainly buy it before I bought an evo X though. Sorry but I don't think all hatches look the same. I could easily tell the difference. I'm obviously not a noob to these forums, nor to the STI. I just know that if I were to purchase a new 08 STI I would just hate for it to be mistaken for a Mazda speed 3 by someone who wouldn't have a clue. I certainly wouldn't be debadging an 08 STI, but thats just me.

Having mistaken identity with the Mazdaspeed3 isn't a bad thing. I bet the people that are bagging on the speed3 have never driven or ridden in one. It's pretty impressive and it's almost half the price of the '08 STI. Either one is a great choice for a "5 door".

The samething could be said about the SRT-4, but you see how much credit they get on these boards

Nope, we aren't doing this again. This thread is done and wins the most useless post award AND the repost x100000 award.
