2008 STI at Indy autoshow

I was at the Indianapolis Auto Show this weekend and I saw the 2008 STI.
I reserved judgment until I saw it in person. In one word, disappointed! I like the interior, the front end with the molded hood scoop is cool, but I can't get over the hatch back crap. If I were to have to choose between the new EVO and the STI I would choose the EVO hands down for styling. I have had a WRX and I currently own an STI, I will be waiting to see if the 2009 STI becomes what it should be. Those BBS rims also have something to be desired.

P.S. I saw the Nissan GT-R, one word WOW!!!

wow, last time I checked this was a forum that was opened to discusion on particuar subjects. And since I thought I would hold my opinion until I saw it I thought it was an informative post for those that live in the mid-west. If you find this not interesting then don't read it!

sure it open to discusion, but how many post are going to be made about it being a hatch???? once agian get over it,, guess what its a hatch in pictures and in real life its not going to change..

Sometimes pictures don't reveal the true picture of a car. Seeing it in person sometimes can change your opinion for better or worse.

The comments will never end. People still talk about how ugly the '06 is whenever they're given a chance, and it's been over two years since they were released. It all goes with being a Subaru "enthusiast".

You have to understand that after going to the autoshow I had to go to a 12 step program to like myself again, and after being verbaly assaulted I felt the need to drink a bottle of Jose 1800 and take some Cymbalta. Wow, what a tough day its been.

I'm way more tired of the self-righteous people who cannot tolerate that others have different opinions than their own about the way a car looks. Not sure why they get so uppity about "I don't like the way it looks threads" but jump in the CJ that is "I like the way it looks threads."

Granted, in this case, I do agree with the notion that, if you indiscriminately don't like hatch backs, you really don't need to see it in person to determine that you don't like it.

Plus, who goes to a car show and doesn't come back with pics (especially of the GT-R)!

Fair play to ya for waiting to comment till you saw it for real, if more had done that there'd be a lot less rubbish been spouted over the past months. Too bad you dont like the 08, but

+1 on the GT-R, if i had the $$$'s that'd be my new STi. I was in Tokyo a while back, and nissan had 2 of em in their Ginza showroom, open for sitting in and dreaming. Awesome...

I'll be posting pics of the GT-R in the morning. It's so cool. I don't have a problem with hatch backs, it's just that I don't think the new STI has the same wow effect that I get when I see my 05. The STI was close to the EVO and everyone that I overheard agreed that the styling of the EVO was much better than the STI. Just one guy's opinion. It's obviously touched someone's nerve a bit.

It's only $7 to get in. It runs from 11 to 9. They also had the Audi R8, awesome car as well. It was a great show.
