I didn't need to sign up to read it.

The ads were overwhelming.

This quote was hysterical:

With 14.7 psi of boost, the STI attacks the track with Biblical anger.
The End.

if you sign up the ads are fewer. I have been reading that mag for ~ a year. Pretty good mag, and Kristopher_d is a cool guy.

I think that this is the future of enthusiast magazines. It's free, and the value to the advertisers is huge because the ads are clickable. Plus, they can give you links to video right in the article.

I've been reading Winding Road since it first came out and they really seem to improve the interface and the content frequently.

Good article, I like their layout.

Odd enough, this is the third article I've read about the SI Drive that says intelligent mode cuts power by 20%

Yes I read that also..... The Save Gas mode...."I" would- Never use it if I got an 08 STI. I would drive a "save gas car" if I had to.

It answered a question I had that no one has been able to tell me yet. It will default back to Sport mode when you turn the car back on if it had been in Sport or S#.

I wonder if the traction control will act the same, somehow I doubt it.

I have a feeling this means I'm going to have to fiddle around like a fighter pilot before each of my autocross runs

Fighter pilot indeed. Clutch in, start car, neutral, brake on, ebrake off, straight to traction and hold for 5 seconds, switch DCCD to whatever setting, wait til warmed up (?), switch to s#. And they said this car is less involving; its a matter of perspective

This being my everyday car, I intend on using the i mode. It will be nice to be able to switch between modes and give me what I want down the road whether it be "better" gas mileage or better performance.

The way I see it, if I actually use the i mode most of the time, switching it to sport would be a welcome change from the dull edge of i mode. It will make the true sport performance more appreciated when I do use it, HOPEFULLY keeping me away from the desire to modify/upgrade.
