2008 STi Tire pressure warning light - Page 2

We have this same issue at Mercedes Benz. New car sales is always swapping wheels and the tire pressure light always comes on right when the person is driving the car home. Then it becomes service departments problem....the salesman are idiots and will do anything to sell the car even if it means pissing the customer off 10 minutes after the purchase.

I have the same problem with my 08 WRX, but i think its just a matter of the tire getting cold and hot. I may check to see if the valve is on right. Some times the light is on and some times its not.

No it doesn't. VIN tells you (using my own car as an example...):

JF1: Made in Japan by FHI
G: Impreza
D: Four door sedan
7: 2.5L Turbo
0: STI

6: Model year 2006 (7 for 2007, 8 for 2008...)

The only place you're going to find color codes is on the chassis tags. And I'd bet you won't find wheel colors anywhere.

I think the TPMS system is going to be really annoying for us track guys that swap wheels, adjust tire pressures, etc. TPMS-delete might be the first mod...hehe. I'd rather the TPMS system tell me exactly what the tire pressure is at each corner, not just a warning.

Good point. Hadn't thought of that (ironically, looking at summer/track wheels now).

Sounds like a job for Cobb/ECUtek/TurboXS. : P

I never was a big fan of the gold wheels but it really looks good on black. Nice car! Can't wait to get mine in Feb!

Thanks alot for the nice comments, cuz i no theres alot of people who hate the 08 so its cool to hear some input from the people that do like it. When you get one your going to love it, the car feels so much different then all of the older STi's i have driven.
