So, the '08 chassis is based on Legacy but how about the engine? It is an upgraded EJ257, right?

nice site.

I'll put my money on the engine being the same ej257 with vf43 from 2007... without the stock tune issues... hopefully.

^^^You're out of luck as far as stock tuning issues. Check out the posts perrin and sponaugle have on nasioc. Nasty AFs at max torque/boost in stock form to keep emissions low.

The lean A/F really isn't a huge deal as long as they fixed the hesitation problem. When the car is running lean it's also running really weak timing. Subaru isn't going to substantially increase the risk of blown motors just to meet emissions, it's too expensive.

We already know the heads are different, because both intake and exhaust cams have AVCS.
