Perhaps it just me, but it seems as though this review isn't objective. Even where there is some praise handed out to the STI, there is always something that has to be said to make the EVO sound better. I know I am an STI lover, but I am certainly not an EVO hater and after reading an article like this you would think every person that drove the two cars would opt for the EVO for the reasons they pointed out.

I was thinking yum when I heard the 8k mentioned, and I came here to post just that, yum. Instead, while thinking of that yummy 8k redline, I tried to type yum as my user name . A guy can dream right?

I don't think that review could have been any more plain. :\ oh well. Plenty more to come.

Anyone notice he talks about the 2.5L spinning to 8K? The UK model doesn't spin to 8K...it might be 6.7 ot 7K but definitely not 8.

Comments like this set off my BS detector:

Quote:
However, had our test car been fitted with Mitsubishi’s brilliant new semi-automatic SST gearbox, the story would have been reversed.
Spoken like someone who knows nothing about how the SST really performs and has already decided how much better it is. Reviews I've seen thus far of the SST suggest otherwise.

I'd guess the reviewer is a fanboy and not the least bit subjective. Nothing new. Reviews without numbers are just opinion pieces anyway. And anybody who thinks the Evo X actually looks better than the 08 STI has a very different opinion than me...

how can this dude talk about how brilliant the new mitsu paddle shifter is when he haven't driven one? also, watching best motoring, evo equipped with the new paddle shifter was slower than the regular 5 speed.

Yeah that article was dookie. They sing the praises of the STI's transmission then claim its 2nd to an SST transmission they've never touched, seen or heard. I don't know if that article was exactly Evo biased, but I definitely got the sense they didn't have the balls to pick one over the other.

yeah, and he didn't mention that EVO's reliability is nonexistant and value, for resale, is virtually nil. I like a car with value. Been digging for figures on both and that's what's come up.
