just drove the 08 STI

one of the subaru reps was at out dealership today and
he had the new 08 STI and were letting the salesmen
take it for a spin. i was in the back and there was
more room than previous models. from the back it felt
prtty good. about 15 min later i got off work and went
back to take pics then the rep cam out and i took the
beautiful baby for a rip. it shifted alot smoother
than other STIs and the ride was not has harsh. the
power felt alittle better and handles pretty good. it
griped the turn i took really well as i got off of the
freeway. i could of pushed it harder but i didnt for
some reason. but anyway we should have them soon. no
date yet. but overall its alot better than the 04-07s.
i have a 05 STI with some mods. i think the 08 STI has
a lot of potential from driving it earlier today. we
will just have to see what happends.

Nice write up. That's good to hear about the smooth shifting, pretty much my only complaint about the previous models was the notchy shifting. Redouts would make it look 10x better imo.

that first pic of the back just looks mean.. Can't believe I'd ever say that about a "hatch", but its true.

I got to see one that already sold yesterday at the dealer. It looks cool. Is this thing more a weekend race toy or will it work ok commuting on bad roads and ice and occasional snow drifts? That spec B might do the trick but if the sti can track straight over expansion bumps etc on the freeway it would work
