Saw an 08 STI for first time in the flesh!

Gotta say, it looks pretty damn good in person. Not as big and bulky, or tall for that matter, as it does in the pictures I've seen, good stance. It was wearing NJ "manufacturer" tags, in a Starbucks parking lot in Moorestown. Dark gray color, forgive me I forget the actual color name, and had the multi-spoke rims (BBS?) and navigation system. Seats are not impressive, however I was just looking at them through the window, did not sit in them so take that for what it's worth. Also did not drive/ride in it so I have no comment on the performance... this is basically just a sighting report and I wanted to comment, again, that it does look pretty good in person. I thought about waiting around for the drive/SOA employee to come to it, but who knows how long that would have taken plus that seemed a little stalkerish. Can't wait to see one in a lighter color, in daylight and test drive that sucker!

I was really confused by "stockerish." I was thinking, well no **** it's stock but then realized you meant stalkerish. hahaha

I got the chance to drive one yesterday, vast improvement over last years car!

To name a few improvements, better ride quality and handling - smoother power delivery - more vision out the rear window, you don’t have to look through the rear wing – shifter seems quicker – SI drive – wide body comes stock! And yes, it looks great in person.

The car was at our shop and the gentleman driving it handed me the keys, what would you have done in my shoes?

Subaru has pre-sold enough of the 08 STI’s that they have already increased production for next year.

I saw one in person the other day... still looks like a ford focus on steriods to me....

I think most performance shops will be biased towards favorable remarks on the new Sti. If I owned a shop, I would do the same thing.

Why would you guys come out and say that it sucks, then lose the positive hype-- and in turn lose a lot of potential customers.

I still can't get over the fact that most people will think "Sti" means "girls wagon without BBS" in Japanese now.
