I guess it's time to grow up and get a bimmer. I like the 08, but there's no way in hell I'm paying $39-40K for one.

The only problem with that is that you will pay half again as much money if you want the same performance. And even then you may not get it.

Exactly! I love how everyone is now quoting the MSRP of the fully decked out STI as the normal price. Skip the BBS and Nav and wait a couple of months and pick it up for invoice. You should be able to buy one for $33K by March or April.

Getting back to your point - drop in a downpipe and an ECUTek tune (AVCS on intake AND exhaust) and you have a car that will roast 99.9% of the cars on the road! I'd bet even without the downpipe a tune will be good for 35-40 hp and the coveted STI 'instaboost' feature...

I dont get the whole price bashing either. So, its going to be a few grand more than 04-07, but for that you get better wheels, nicer interior with NAV, 12 more hp and generally a more refined ride w/o sacrifice of performance. To me thats well worth it.

seriously. if $ is the issue; just opt out of the bbs and navi (save 3g's) and get yourself some nice Advans in the future.

People just want to ***** because things change, many want things to stay as they are It's one thing to complain about the design but it's another to constantly ***** about it.
