Default Dealer Sales Tax Holdiay?!?

Just got a letter in the mail today from my local Subaru dealership about a "FIRST TIME EVER SALES TAX HOLIDAY" directly from the desk of the Vice President. It states that the dealership (within a particular 3-day time period) will offer 110% Kelly blue book value for my vehicle (07 sti) as a trade in of which they are interested in acquiring AND paying all the sales tax charges along with any factory rebates for the newly traded vehicle. So I was wondering if anyone else has received a similar letter and if they know exactly what it's about. Specifically, would I be able to trade-in my 07 STI for an 08 sti with little or nothing extra to pay for it?!? I'll definitely be giving them a call tomorrow to find out all about it but I appreciate any input anyone has on this.

Thanks,
lucas_

Yep, it's just standard garbage to get you in. That KBB will be the lowest possible wholesale Fair condition value, etc, etc.

You are NOT going to trade your used STi for a new, more expensive one. That's ridiculous.

i mean it could be bait, but it wouldn't hurt to find out. just make sure you know what you want when you go in there and don't walk out with something you don't want (a bad deal or a car you don't want)

Why would you do that? Even if it was a straight across trade, the performance hit would be big.

I still get those bait letters from the local Ford dealer wanting to buy my '03 Cobra, and I haven't even had that car for over two years. Lovely marketing crap. "We have an urgent need to buy your car!" Uhhh, what you have an urgent need for is my money, but so do I, so piss off...

I got that letter the other day. You also get a free 25 piece tool kit just for stopping in. Concorville Subaru in Pa sent it to me. It is probably a pretty good program if you were already planning on trading your car in anyway.
