I'm pretty sure the typical reponse is BMW 1 series. Everyone seems to be so into BMW's nowadays.

that would be my guess the 135i. which to me doesnt make much sense since thats comparing a rwd 2 door coupe with an AWD 5 door hatch.

That's cool,
But not in the showrooms either yet, right?
Spring 2008?? maybe? The STI will beat it to the showrooms for sure. I don't see any pricing on BMW's website, where are these SWAG pricing figures coming from?
RWD with traction control? Are you guys Subaru fans or not?

And...if you guys thought Subaru Service Department pricing was bad.....sheesh

I agree, it would be almost better to look at other cars for the price range. I know that you can get the cheaper one but everyone will want the bigger rims. Subaru will have to lower the price anyway not to many people are going to buy the new STI!

Standard wheels will be 18x8.5 as well, cast alloy, made by Enkei, IIRC. They aren't half bad looking either IMHO. A monolithic 5 spoke in a gunmetal color as far as I can tell...

I want to come up on a set of takeoffs. I wonder what the offsets are.

I'm fairly certain that I read somewhere (maybe in the press release?) that the stock/base/non-BBS wheels were a multi-spoke design. The JDM cars have a 17" monolithic five-spoke wheel as their base wheel, and so far none of the pics from cars in the US have had that design. It's a shame because with 18's being the only option it essentially ruins the car for stock class rallycross.

I guess the point of that comments was that personally I'm not willing to pay above $34k for a Subaru... I don't care what model and trim it is. Once the price gets above that, it is no longer a bargain. At $40k I'm looking around at other dealerships. Someone commented earlier that Subaru is going for the "older" crowd, i.e. BMW owners who want a fun sporty ride, but I don't see some guy with a BMW, putting a Subaru next to it in the garage. Don't get me wrong, I love my car, but I would not have paid a single cent more for it, and if I'm spending $40k on a car, there just isn't anything on a Subaru car lot that's worth that amount of money.

Not sure where you read that, but they may be saying that the duct behind the front fender flare is functional for brake cooling...??
