On top of that he ain't paying anywhere near MSRP, even as among the earliest buyers.
I think if they can keep a fully loaded (NAV, BBS) STI at a 37k pricepoint, it could have a nice spot in the market to compete with the 135i, g37 and Acura TL-S.

Now the final question is how much is a fully loaded evoX???

teh BBS as an option will bring the weight down a bit, the 5 spoke base 18s are pretty heavy. Not that much of a weight increase, 22-44lbs depending on options. That new rear suspension doesn't look very light, they cross member is gigantic compared to the old one.

As an outsider, how much under sticker did the previous STi sell at, and about how long after launch did haggling become possible? I suspect that it will be difficult to get one under sticker at first, but within a few months, I would guess normal invoice + $1000 or so would be about right, no?

thanks man, that's exactly what i wanted to see.
man i can't believe the steering ratio is 15:1 which is 2.8 turns lock to lock, they should have made it less.

2008 STi Pics (LA Auto Show)

The above link has some pictures I took of the new STi yesterday.

Nothing on the turbo in the press kit. Pistons are still cast not forged.

Guess not. But how can we be sure that the '08 arent going to be "corrected" to be 297HP?

Subaru didn't make a mistake that needed to be corrected. The SAE changed the rating methodology and when Subaru tested the motor again using the new procedures the same engine was rated at a lowed HP. This affected many manufacturers, not just Subaru. The new motor and old motor tested under the same procedure shows a 12 hp increase.

I will make my decision on buying one when i see track times and performance numbers on the street. I don't believe in performance based on paper.

If it's of any consolation, at least it won't feel too different than the ratio we have now

all the sti ratios are 15:1 but after driving and feeling an evo, 2.8 turns is a lot for a supposed "sports car"....
i just think they could have refined that and it would really make a difference.
