Anybody see this? I don't know the exchange rate but after reading this I think the USDM is getting hosed. Leather standard? Nav standard and cheaper?

Each British 1 = $2.00 U.S. dollars... so that makes a $50,000.00 STi... hardly a deal...

Very true, but thats always been the case, cant convert directly on the car price.
but some of the stuff in the UK links a bit closer.example the BBS option is GBP 1k = ~US$2k. The recaro option is also GBP 1k. Only USD 2k for real seats, wtf is SOA thinking not bringing them over.

Actually I was more referring to the price drop with all the standard equipment. We aren't getting a price cut, are we?

I read in one of the online spec sheets the turbo for the 08 STI is a Mitsubishi turbo. It didn't say which one possibly 16g or 18g? I don't recall the source though. I do have some other features not mentioned in this thread directly off the Drive Performance Subaru published Magazine.

I didn't include the features I've been seeing mentioned over and over in this and other forums.

Exterior
-Pop up headlight washers

Engine
-Iridium tipped spark plugs with square positive electrodes, for reduced emmisions and better fuel economy
-High effieciency catlytic converter, which improves emmissions and better fuel economy
-A high flow fuel pump, which improves performance and fuel economy

Drivetrain
-Triple cone synchronizers and modified snchronizer chamfer for first and second gears
-Carbon cone synchronizers for fourth, fifth and sixth gears
-Reduced shift friction in the synchronizer sleeve for improved shift feel

Chassis
-The front suspension's aluminum L-arms are 2.2 pounds lighter than the previous design
-Box-section front crossmembers eliminate the need for a front subframe reducing weight
-The rear suspension's double wishbone design incorporates the subframe, which helps isolate road noise and shock from the passenger cabin for a quieter ride
-Rear bushings are tuned to reduce noise, vibration, and harshness

Brakes
-Ultra-low expansion brake hoses, which provide more positive brake feel and pedal strenth
-Improved power brake booster
-Rear calipers increased in width from 35mm to 45mm to improve clamping force and overall performance

Interior
-Standard SRS Circle Surround Automotive audio with 6 disc indash CD changer
-Audyssey MultEQ audio technology wich provides optimal sounds for all passengers in every seating position-standard on all models with navigation
-Available navigation system with Bluetooth capability

Safety
-Clutch pedal included in the safety pedal system, which helps to reduce foot and leg injuries in a frontal impact

Man, someone has to know which turbo is on these things by now. There are guys around here that have bought '08 STi's already. Maybe I'll have to see if one will let me poke around.

+1.

The car gained almost 200 lbs in weight....

$2,000 for BBS wheels, what is this, BMW?????

The seats suck ballz. I saw them in the San Francisco Auto Show............sure glad I picked up my Evo Recaros on Ebay + cleaning, fixing, mounting for about $1200 out the door.

I will give them credit though, the transmission has been beefed up even more, the SI-Drive is cool, the variable valve timing is on the exhaust and intake, the AWD system has been improved.

I'm pretty sure the car, in bbs trim, is only like 20 something pounds heavier than the 07. It's got bigger, wider wheels and tires and a bigger gas tank and a heavier rear suspension. Considering all this, it is surprising it doesn't weigh a lot more.

22lb difference over last year's porker, 110 more than 05 published numbers!
