Default 2008 STi Pics (LA Auto Show)

My first post!!!

Here are a bunch of pics of the new 2008 STi. The launch occurs tomorrow morning at 10:35 Pacific time. The current press kit doesn't have anything in it about the STi. Hopefully, I can get the final U.S. specs tomorrow....

The official specs and a few pics from the official launch today (WRB and gold BBS pics here as well) are in a different post.

That's a great color...wish they would've had that before.

I have been a hater, but the 08 is growing on me. Given what I would need to come up with if I sold my 07, it is hard to justify a new car, but I am starting to like it. The 1 series and M3 intros were this afternoon, will try and get some pics tomorrow.

They started the car up while I was there and it is quiet at idle and low revs. Almost sounds like an equal length exhaust, not much of the boxer rumble like my 07.

I agree the color looks good. It is quit a bit darker than the UGM from previous years.

The exhaust sure takes a convoluted path. Look how it snakes around the diff and does a complete U turn at the end.

New multi-link rear suspension. The wheels with 245's are nice. Kind of reminds me of OZ Superleggeras, which I had on my old WRX wagon.

Miss the STi on the intercooler....

How about those gas struts for the hood. Small, but nice addition.

The seats look OK, but would really like the JDM RECAROS. The new EVO has them again.

Tons of room in the back. This is a plus, but I like the compact feel of the current car. IMO, a performance car loses something as a wagon.

If it drives great it will sell, but the BMW 135i will be stiff competition if it is priced in the same ballpark.

Unlike the regular show days, every car was open and available to sit in, pop the hood, etc. The Nissan GT-R was the biggest surprise. I didn't like it in pictures, but it looks awesome in person. The Ferrari 430 Scuderia was my favorite car of the show so far. I am dreaming with that one...

Very nice pics. Id still like to see it in WRB w/ Gold, kind of like that older STI in the background.

One thing I'm a big fan of is the toned down colors of the interior. I'm all for a subdued color scheme. Great pics!

I'd probably do it if I weren't already under after trading in a 1-y/o GTI in for my STI!

When I go for my next car, if Subaru wants my money, they are going to have to add the Recaro seats to the options list.
