Looking at the pictures of seats, it looks like they at least would offer the same support as my '03 WRX seats, which I love. Anyone who has attended the show, please comment on the differences or similarities vs. '02/'03 seats. The space between the bolsters doesn't looks as wide as I initially thought...

^ I dunno, the seats look like they would offer even less support and for some reason they look kind of fugly and cheap to me.

I still think it looks like a Mazda or a Suzuki. Just downright lazy design, nothing original, everything copied and poorly at that.

I'll keep my '06 and see what happens in '10. If they take a dump on the '10 like they took a dump on this POS I think I'll hang up my Suby sticker and move to a car manufacturer that isn't so obviously desperate.

is that blue accents on the inside of the taillight housing?
also why is the car dirty?
maybe im nitpicking, but it doesn't look like it's in showroom condition
the interior looks a little cheap to me
and its missing the stitching that makes the sti standout

Gentlemen,. No disrespect to anyone. But as an 05' aspen white owner with mods . Dudes, wake the f..k up. The sti is an iconic sportscar, It has a cult following because of its in your face design,. power and I dont take **** from anyone mentality. This new design,. Is..... A disgrace. Its crap. its worthless and doesnt do anything to advance the legend. The sti died with the 07 year, Personally I still think the 05' design was the best, But dont fool yourselves with this crap. Mazda 3 looks more sporty...

I'm liking the new front a lot, and those wheels....But.

I have to say I side with those that rather have a raw performance car than a "civilized" wide-audience car. For one thing, there is nothing wide-audience about the price tag...so what's really wider about the wider audience?

They must assume a lot of people turned down the STI because of it's funky wing, and relatively simple interior. Maybe they assume people went for an infinity or accura, or some lower end bmw or some other import. Who knows what they are thinking.

So they want to sell more imprezas and family sendans?
Isn't that what the 2.5, WRX and legacy are for?
This is the STI, the rear wing of the WRC team reads this->http://www.swrt.com/img_gallery/658232941.jpg

not...."STI Style".

I'm actually ok with the hatch look. It just feels like it's missing the punch. But i'll wait for the test reviews.

/pointless personal reaction bash.

in restrospect, it is still a damn good car. I don't think I'd buy one (an 08 model) all over again if I hadn't owned an 06, but I wouldn't bash it as crap. If it was my fist sti...maybe I'd buy one. not sure.

The new STI looks great !! Wide fenders and proper WRC euro hatch design , they finally made a proper rally contender. Those current STI owners who think the new STI is bland, just take off the giant boy-racer wing and then think again which model really looks bland...

well if you start taking parts off any car you can always make it blander...so what's the point in debating that. I'm not sure "proper wrc euro hatch design" is the "proper" rally design. It's just the current trend in the WRC. Subaru's sedan is still very successful in the group N4 and PWRC so I woudn't say a sedan is no longer rally worthy.

It is true the hatch will probably help the WRC car, but I think the bland comment comes not from the fact that it is a hatch but from the fact that the hatch design looks soft (and quite a bit like the mazda 3) and the power figure was not as much as people hoped for.

I actually like the new WRC wing a lot more than the current model. It is too bad they didn't keep it. I really don't care for "ricer" looks, but part of the sti brand is that you felt you really had a rally car, yeah ridiculous wing included.

The wing on the GD's is a WRC wing. I think they switched it up with late 05-early 06 to the current WRC wing(i think) It's still the current wing on the USA rally cars.

A proper WRC car? Hey, IMO that's all up to prodrive. It isn't a chassis failure. Solberg beat out plenty of hatches in 05 when he took the record stage time for Ohiuj-something in Finland in 05 with a GD chassis. The problem is with prodrive building their cars. I personally think the whole hatch idea is just a scapegoat for prodrive failing at life....
